INTENSE Aroma as soon as you open the bag! Mostly Mango scented but you can tell there are other smells IN there too! But that Mango really hit me!
The taste is great! Tastes much different than it smells…ALL the fruit flavors blend together nicely…nothing really steps in front of the other flavors by too much
For the 2nd infusion I could taste the peach more tho!
Both infusions the black tea was bold and and flavors were wonderful!
I have a lot of backlogging to do – and I have been so bad about that lately! Hopefully in the next few days! Eeeeek!
Anyhow…I just got this little number in the mail while I was away! What a great surprise!
This is certainly robusto! I like it! Sometimes you just need a good, strong, black tea! This did the job!
Also makes a good cold or iced tea!
Bring on the day!
I had ordered this from Praise Tea a while ago. When my order arrived, there was a note on the invoice that said it was out of stock. I didn’t mind at all; there was a lovely sample of peach tea in its place.
Today, when I finally braved the rain to check my mailbox, I had a package from Praise Tea. I had no idea what was going on…until I opened it. There was the sample of this I had ordered, and 3 other complimentary samples. I was shocked and very excited, to say the least. I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer.
Especially since this really, really does taste like a cabernet. It’s lighter than a real wine, of course, and I can still taste the rooibos and the flowers, but the cabernet comes to the fore and is fantastic. I totally did not follow the steeping directions, and brewed for 5 min (the package recommends 2-3 min). I think I’ll need to take some of this to work, so I can pretend I’m having a glass of wine when I’m having a bad day.
Champagne this morning, cabernet this evening…Praise Tea, are you turning me into a tea wino? ;-)
Preparation
Enjoying one last cup of this before I send off what I have left to my SororiTEA Sister!
This one seriously starts off like a Darjeeling. Once it cools just a little bit, it demonstrates more Nilgiri characteristics… It has a nice, robust quality to it. Very pleasant. Notes of citrus. A very lovely tea.
Preparation
This tea reminds me a lot of a Darjeeling, both in appearance and in flavor. In fact, had someone just sat this cup in front of me without telling me what type of tea it was, I would guess it was a Darjeeling.
But, according to the package it is a Nilgiri. It has a bright, brisk flavor. It is somewhat astringent which leaves the palate feeling clean but not overly dry. Very smooth and no bitterness. A light sweetness with a muscatel-ish note.
A very pleasant tea. The light sweetness makes it quite delicious without adding any sweetener or milk. I like it very much.
Edited to add: After this tea cooled slightly, this became more Nilgiri-like than Darjeeling-like. I’m getting less of a muscatel note now and more of a citrus-y note. A very interesting tea…
Preparation
I’m very impressed by this tea!! There’s an almost effervescent quality to it, and it genuinely tastes like a glass of champagne with raspberries dropped in. There’s still a hint of the white tea taste as well, and it’s well done. The brewing time suggested seemed rather long (4-6 minute as compared to my usual 2 for white teas), but produced an amazing cup. Definitely an indulgence!
Preparation
Wonderful taste and smell. A nice peach flavor, that’s not overwhelming. Makes a great after-dinner tea.
Preparation
Peach, yes. Orchid, no. With some yes and some no…sometimes, its a play on “name” of the tea. Kinda like our “My Boss Sucks Tea”. It’s hard to put that in a tea. Or so we hope. It’s more on the line of a peach orchard, only we change orchard to orchid….In any event, It’s on the way, so we will let you be the judge.
This medium-bodied tea is delicious served hot or cold. The flavors are strong enough to withstand the chill without muting. Pale gold in color, this tea has a unique smooth flavor and a hint of sweetness. Its delicate, exquisite taste is a treat for the connoisseur.
Preparation
When I was little, my dad and I would walk through the neighborhood and gather little green apples from our neighbors’ trees. Then we’d sit on the front porch and gorge ourselves on them until we were sick to our stomachs and Mom was yelling at Dad for ruining my appetite for supper. When I saw this tea, I knew I had to try it, if for no other reason than nostalgia.
I’m rather impressed with it, too. The green tea base is delicious and slightly buttery, and the apple is crisp and tart. I can definitely detect a bit of the “Jolly Rancher” sweetness, but the flavor isn’t too candy-like. It’s not as tart as mine and Dad’s little green apples, but it’s not far off.
Preparation
Trying this again, but added an extra teaspoon of tea in (3 tsps for 16 oz). I can definitely smell pineapple this time around…
Still not getting much pineapple coming through in the taste, though this pot is much better than my previous attempts. Still getting that Genmaicha taste, but with more leaf it’s not as overpowering. Bumping the rating on this…it’s much, much better with that additional tsp of leaf!!
Preparation
Having this one again after seeing TeaEqualsBliss’s review and high rating. I’m not really getting the amount of pineapple that she got…but, again with this pot, the first thing I taste is the Genmaicha (at least, I think it’s that, it’s a toasted rice taste). That kind of crowds everything else out for me. I’ve had Genmaicha before, but really don’t remember it being this bold. Will try again with a shorter steep later.
Preparation
I’ve never had bamboo in tea before…so when I saw this while browsing the tea section of Steepster, I knew I had to try it. Placed an order for samples, and here it is!
It’s…okay. I can taste the Genmaicha prominently, and it overpowers the other flavors quite a bit. If I try, I get a bit of ginger and cardamom. There’s a fruit-ish aftertaste to it that’s more mango & papaya than pineapple. I’m not 100% sure I’m a fan of genmaicha, and I can’t help but think this blend would be better off without it.
Preparation
Smooth & flowery with a sublte apple notes almost reminiscent of the jolly rancher apple candy. Make it with a light temperature & low steeping time, up to one minute initially then longer for subsequent steeps. Superb as an evening tea. Excellent for multiple infusions.
Preparation
Just enough peach flavor paired with an excellent Oolong. A well-rounded tea, with earthy notes. The floral and fruit flavors come through more before brewing after, and the leaves themselves hold up well to repeated brewing.
Preparation
The floral smell is wonderfully soothing & not overpowering at all. The flavor of the white tea blends beautifully with the florals creating the perfect cup of luxurious self-indulgence! The rose flavor is present but not overbearing.
