Was sent this as part of a selection of bagged teas by a friend living in Sri Lanka.

Clear orangey-red paling to a golden edge towards the rim of the glass. Light, slightly fragrant bouquet, moderately full in the mouth but very refreshing on the palate. Slightest hint of vanilla, maybe caramel.

There’s no bitterness there at all. Tannins almost imperceptible at first. A gorgeous tea. Ideal for drinking on its own.

A good solid tea.
For a few reasons I just wasn’t in the mood to deal with much loose tea (I made two cups at once). This really hit the spot.
I had to add an entire teaspoon of sugar to suss out any peachy flavour and even then it was super mild. I prefer not to add anything at all, or if I must just a quarter/half of a teaspoon so this won’t be one I’ll purchase again.
Also, like the tea I had yesterday, this wouldn’t do so well iced.
I’m on the hunt for a tea that I adore iced, besides Darjeeling. Trouble is, I tend to prefer most teas hot and I hate to “waste” it trying out all the iced tea making methods…

Worse than the vanilla tea. No noticeable maple aroma or flavour, just a vague sweetness. Just as bitter/astringent as vanilla, but no redeeming other flavours.

Bought a single tea bag of this tea at a tea shop just for curiosity. It wasn’t bad, though it was more astringent than I’d like despite a 2 or 2.5 minute infusion. Vanilla flavour was noticeable, but not incredibly decadent or anything. Worth a try, but not a tea I need to have again.

I bought this for camping. It’s nice and compact, reusable and washes out easily. It’s white cotton which permanently stains pretty quickly but with a good wash it looks decent. I do like that it’s all fabric, so it’s great for steeping extremely fine teas and even dust.

tea while camping sounds like one of the best ideas ever!

Anlina

My partner and I went back woods camping at the end of August and camped in a site that at the end of three lakes and three portages. And it rained quite a lot. It was an amazing trip but dear god, did I ever need a good cup of tea after that paddling and being out in the rain.

I grabbed this because I couldn’t find any of the fillable paper tea sacks for a reasonable price, and I wasn’t going to limit myself to dust tea bags.

OMGsrsly

Oh, that sounds awesome! I totally understand needing tea after being out in the rain. :) I’ve packed up a pot and my wee stove, so I can take it on rainy day dayhikes. Yeah, I spoil myself.

Excellent afternoon tea.Refreshing, medium strength/body,works black, with milk or with lemon. The BOP are small particles so needs carefully short steeping to avoid excess tannins.

Picked a tin of this up in Sri Lanka.Brewed strong with a dash of milk it reminded me of the tea my grandma used to make in the 70’s.Flavoursome but without the weight and body of modern UK brand blends. The BOPF in this is close to dust but for an afternoon cuppa with milk and no navel gazing it hits the mark.Very refreshing and quite crisp.Brews quickly (2/3 mins) gets tannic if left longer.

drank Blueberry Tea by MlesnA

I’ve had many teas by this company before, and every so often Santa buys me a box for Christmas. I must say…I can’t remember the last time I tried one of the flavours and thought “geez. This is good!” Actually, I can vaguely remember…

Back in the good old days, you used to be able to buy a 25-pack of this tea and it came in a little balsa wood box. It was almost like a mini tea chest, and the balsa box was patterned with the tea company’s logo as well as a design motif for that specific tea. Likely very expensive packaging for a mediocre tea, but it’s not like balsa wood is THAT expensive. It’s in little kids’ airplane kits for darn sakes.

And then this company went to “new and improved cardboard packaging”. And with a decrease in the quality of the packaging came a decrease in the quality of the tea. I used to LOVE their ice wine tea. It was some of my favourite tea ever made in a bag. Perhaps some of my favourite tea ever. Their maple tea was also very good, as was their cranberry. I tried another flavour, too…maybe apricot? I don’t remember. It wasn’t as good as the rest, but certainly not bad. When Santa saw the blueberry flavour in the store again, he thought it would be a good blast from the past. Bad Santa. Very, very bad Santa!

I’m always leery of bagged teas that don’t come individually wrapped, even if it’s just in paper. I find within days of opening the metallic baggie that this tea comes in, it seems stale the next time I go to drink it. So wrapping in individual wrappers would be a good step. Going back to their “old recipes” would also be a good step. Now all I taste is artificial flavour and astringent black tea. It’s not good. I just realized this is the third blueberry tea in a row I’ve rated. I must be on a blueberry kick and didn’t realize it.

Verdict: would definitely not re-buy once the last 4 bags are finished.

Not really satisfied with this one. The tea used tasted too strong for me to feel and appreciate the vanilla flavour: this tea gets bitter very quickly and covers the flavour. Still better than most vanilla-flavoured teas.

This Earl Grey is in my opinion tastier than most Earl Greys I’ve drunk up to now. It is decently strong and so is the bergamot flavour. I wouldn’t advise to sweeten it or put milk into it.

I’ve yet to experiment much with the steeping time (I brew most black teas for 3 minutes so that’s what I went with), and it brews so strong! Yummy and so very warming, but a little bit ‘heavy tasting’. This might be because it’s such a finely chopped tea, it’s almost like a dust.
Super-strength besides, it has a smooth and rich taste, no bitterness at all.
