Kroger Private Selection

I live in Bangkok Thailand and always buy the entire stock at Kroger’s before returning..Fantastic taste and no caffeine..Can’t find anything to compare here in Bangkok

Excellent lemon green tea but haven’t been able to find on the shelf with any consistency. Highly recommend.

Cinnamon and hibiscus? That’s certainly an interesting combination, but in my head, it seems like it could be a good idea. The bag smells appealing, at least. Warm, comforting cinnamon and not really much else. Something about it reminds me of Christmas and gingerbread men. Also Red Hots.

Despite the hibiscus content, it doesn’t brew up entirely magenta. More like maroon-tinted amber. Even when steeped, I still can’t smell the hibiscus, but I know that’s more than alright with a few of you! It’s somewhat present in the flavor, but you really have to feel for it. Otherwise, this tastes like a plain cinnamon tea. I happen to like that, though, so I’m enjoying this a lot. The cinnamon is very vivid, but not enough to burn. For something cheap and grocery store brand, this is surprisingly simple and good.

So, I was at Goodyear getting an oil change and the second I wandered away from the counter, I raided their coffee and tea area. I basically took one of each flavor they had. So what if this is bagged and Kroger brand? I’ve never had it before and I’m willing to review it!

Fresh out of the foil, the bag smells lovely. Minty with the potent, herbal aroma of lemongrass. The peppermint draws me in, as I’ve been out of mint tea for a while, and have been missing it. As it brews, the peppermint becomes the most noticeable scent over the lemony herbs.

Upon first sip, I’m greeted by a very fresh peppermint taste that immediately chills my tongue. It’s followed by sweet, soothing lemon verbena and lemongrass. Just like the scent of the tea, the peppermint leaves take the forefront and are followed by lemon. It’s nice that they didn’t put lemon peel in this, or else I think it would have been too harsh. All around, this is sort of unremarkable, but I like it. It’s simple, gentle, and clean-tasting.

A tea I picked up on a whim and has become a regular for me. It has a naturally fruity taste and is good with milk and sugar. Perfect for when your friend has already walked the four miles to the well for the water despite your urging that she is an enchantress of sorts and likely there’s a much easier magical workaround.

I don’t usually like herbal teas because they always taste so weak. However, I bought some of this as a decaf option for my sons and found that it is absolutely delicious. It has a strong taste of cinnamon and a well blended mix of other taste-ginger,rosehip,orange peel and peppermint. I don’t taste the peppermint but enjoy the blend so they obviously did it right. I steep it for about 4-5 minutes and add sugar. Don’t recommend it with honey so much.

This I bought at Kroger also, just like the Private Selection Sweet Cinnamon Spice Herbal Tea, and it is also very good. I really enjoy this in the morning or afternoon when I need a boost of caffeine. It tast really good and also pulls me out of fatigue. Steep for about 5 minutes and just add sugar. Cost is quite reasonable. Recommend to friends or anyone who enjoys a good cup of hot tea.

First time to try any Rooibos tea, so I don’t know how others of this type taste. An interesting scent and flavor, somewhat nutty. I prepared it same as with black teas: with a splenda packet, and a little half and half. Very good taste; tastes more like a black tea than other herbals do, and great for an evening tea — without the caffeine.

Just the smell of this will get you hooked. I’ll admit the tea by itself is bleh, flavorless, but with a little bit of sweetner and it’s the bees knees, if they ever had any~ Blueberry and Pomergranate are the two main dominating flavors and work well together, never really had acai on it’s own to distinguish flavor and it has a red-violet ‘winey’ type color. The fruityness of it would probably be overpowering for some but it’s well worth it.

This Tea has pretty much restored my faith in humanity man~ just UGHHH where to begin?? OK so it had a slight fruity not too overpowering tropical flavor that makes you not have to put alot of sweetner in it, because i hate it when you taste the sweetner more then the tea itself, the color is a golden orange/brown and it leaves an awesome after taste. It’s good hot or if you drink cold tea like a fish does water ,i’m a southener, it’s still good Buy. this . tea

Love this tea. It has a smooth fruitiness but not too strong like some of the other citris and fruit teas. Good tasting hearty black tea.

This tea is awesome! I have asthma and was struggling with some mucous plugging. I drank this tea and voila! Feels good going down and loosens not only a clogged chest, but also the digestive system. Execellent tea!

It’s wonderfully rainy, and I’m celebrating my new bookcase being built (what? That’s a special occasion for me) so I decided to try a new tea out. Although a bit plain-Jane, I figured why the hell not?

The color is as you would expect of a black tea – a nice dark gold with a black hue. I was expecting the flavor to be a bit plainer, but I was surprised to find that the taste of the black tea is edged with a slightly… floral flavor?

I can’t smell the taste that is on my tongue whenever I sip the tea, but another taste reveals another nip of flower. I mean, I get that camilla sinesis IS a flower, but I didn’t expect this blend to taste floral. Although not completely unpleasant, and the taste does fade under the flavor of the black tea, it does leave its mark on the palate. The problem is that the floral taste seems to taste like old lady perfume smells, if that makes any sense.

The floral tinge and the weakness of the black tea itself does not leave too favorable of an impression on me, but I’m not about to throw the whole box of tea away. I’m not about to buy this tea again, however.

Great fruity taste, tropical fruit taste.

Very good cinnamon herbal tea, and makes a great mixer with black tea. Plus, can use 2 or 3 times, again added to black tea.

This is a bagged herbal. I know there is mint and orange and some other things in here but what caught my attention is the sweet cinnamon. It is like H&S Hot Cinnamon Spice Lite. It is no where near as intense but its the same idea. Of course this has no black tea. My son said it would make a great mixer. I agree. Not too bad.

Not as flavorful as I’d like it to be, no matter how I brew it, but it’s good anyway.

I think this is one of the best teas that I have had. I love all the flavors that explode in my mouth. The smell just makes me smile. I will continue to buy this flavor. I like my tea stong so may steep it longer than most. I LOVE IT!!!!

A cheap stand-by that I’ve overlooked since I bought the massive box on the cheap at the closest Kroger’s about, say, a year ago. Cheap, frankly pretty ugly packaging – but whaddaya gonna do, when you need a hundred tea bags and you’re on a budget?

Brewed the tea, according to some new instructions I found on the internet about “proper” green tea brewing. Anything to make this review as accurate as possible.

Smells like pretty run of the mill green tea – nice and light. The color is a lovely burnt orange, as, yet again, is to be expected with any decent green tea. I do have to say that I like the nice size of the tea bag.

Drinking it cooled down, it has a pleasant taste… Eh, downright watery. At least it’s not bitter. I would recommend using these if you need to make more iced tea than you can possibly fathom. It’s pretty, um, flavorless, so don’t think that you’ll be getting much more than a really great value on some antioxidant-rich tea-flavored water.

Edit – Drank a bit more of what was left over from last night’s cup – a little less flavorless than what I thought I tasted yesterday, so maybe I was a bit harsher on it than I needed to. It’s best cold and with sugar. However, when I attempted to steep the same bag again, it definitely came out as vague green-tea flavored water. Just don’t expect a tea that’s more than an iced tea or one that you can have multiple steepings of.

Yes, I’ve drunk this before, and no I didn’t like it. weak and tepid. If you add copious amounts of milk and sugar you can get by though.

It is better than most store brands…take that for what it’s worth.

This is a good, fruity-tasting tea. The flavor is pleasant, and powerful enough that I make it with less sugar than I typically use in most teas. Tastes great, and smells even better. I’ll almost certainly buy this again.
