Another swap sample from Instagram, thanks tea friend! I used two sachets for a 16-ounce teapot.

I actually think I could’ve used just one, as it’s very strong with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Otherwise, it’s mostly soft, mellow chamomile, with a lovely honeyed sweetness to it and just a hint of apple skin. The lavender is subtle, fortunately for me. It adds a slight citrusy floral note that complements the chamomile well.

I wouldn’t call this blend remarkable in any way, but it’s pleasant enough to sip on before bed, and the ingredients seem to be high quality.

Refreshing and fragrant with a tinge of sweetness. The tea was a lovely pale yellow in colour. Perfect for rainy, slumpy afternoons, and after a heavy meal. I didn’t pair the tea with anything and just had it straight while working, which was perfectly fine by me.
There’s a slight astringency for subsequent steeps, though that is to be expected.
Wouldn’t recommend for mornings unless you like waking up to the scent of roses, which is quite strong in this cup.

This smells absolutely heavenly. Aromatic crispness of orange blossoms, lemongrass, and ginger. Taste-wise, light, with more emphasis on the lemongrass than anything else. Not a strong tea – makes for an excellent palate cleanser or when you don’t want something too heavy.

Perfect night-time or dessert tea. I didn’t think I would like this style of flavoured tea since I dislike the artificial DAVIDsTEA counterparts, but this is a subtle and delicious blend of cacao and caramel. Smells divine but not in a cheap or teenybopper way.

Delicious breakfast tea. I don’t usually like flavoured teas but this is masterfully blended, and doesn’t get too bitter even when oversteeped, like a lot of Western black teas do.

I also loved their Azteca d’Oro. Looking forward to trying all their teas!

I love this black tea. But I can’t buy this tea in my country.

My next favourite afternoon tea after Gyphon’s own Pearl of the Orient. I love the strong lavender aroma underscored by the scent of the tea itself. Taste-wise, it’s a good balance of lavender & lingering earl grey. I don’t really detect the bergamot. It’s a good tea to enjoy over a book.

I brew it as per instructions for the median of the time indicated.

My favourite afternoon tea. It strikes a nice balance between rose and jasmine, with a slight astringency. I steep the bag up to three times.

I follow the instructions labelled, and take the median of the timings recommended.

I taste mainly chamomile in this blend, with lavender being a distant, but next strongest taste. The other flavours bring up the rear. My only gripe is that it’s slightly too astringent to me, but that fades quickly.

My go-to when I need a good night’s rest. I follow instructions for brewing and take out the tea bag about a min before the max time indicated.

Extremely flowery, quite smooth and sweet, good when drink it cold as well as hot one. I always love the color of gryphon’s teas, they are always so clear and beautiful.

The first time I try, it remind me of traditional herbal medicine which is bitter and a little spicy… I don’t like it at the time.

I have to add unsweetened condensed milk and honey on my second try, and it become really good! However, since it is not so good by itself, I will not recommend others to buy it unless they want to make some chai or milk tea.

This delicate tea is highly focus on relaxing sensation.

It has beautiful light color with refreshing aroma. Just one sniff will make you forget a bad day, and want to spend your time enjoy this tea. The flavor is light, so when I have to choose my tea from the cupboard, I always end up pick something stronger.

Gryphon’s POTO is one of my long-time favs and Hanami could be my perfect Sakura cuppa.

Other cherry blossom blends I’ve tried in the past came across as either sharp ume-ish concoctions, or bitter like cough syrup. But Hanami is sweet and creamy. I was surprised its base is Sencha. Coz it didn’t strike me as dark or mellow at all. There’s a hint of vanilla or some kind of gourmandish note, as well.

Also, I find Gryphon’s silky gauze sachets diffuse flavour better than paper tea bags.

Not my favourite earl grey blend but it does nicely if you like your earl grey slightly stronger, with a ‘burnt’ taste.

This is a very refreshing drink. The mint taste is quite lovely.
