This is just exquisite – I might have to review my line “don´t like flavoured whites”, because it seems if the flavouring is right, I do!
How peculiar that the pairing of a herb with a flower produces such fruity notes – like strawberry almost. Really lovely.
Preparation
Another GTC tea from Treasures variety box! It’s also the last bag I have for this flavour…
I know everybody has different preference, but it’s hard for me to believe that there are ppl who don’t like a beautiful tea like this. It’s quite a strong tea but it’s “feminized” by a generous amount of bergamot and lavender. When I picked up my cup, I thought I was holding a bouquet of lavender! The floral fragrance was natural and very calming, and it took a cup of fairly good Earl Grey to an even higher level. Lovely.
Preparation
My last bag of Hanami from GTC’s Treasures… I am sad to see it go! :( Unlike TWG Tea, I don’t think I can get GTC’s tea anywhere but in Singapore…
This is surprisingly creamy, a quality that I do not expect in a sencha. Sakura presents in the form of soft floral fragrance and subtle sweetness in the tea, which is lovely. The sweet flavour reminds me of sakura-scented Japanese sweets I had before. It certainly evokes the image of sakura bloom in spring (in fact, hanami is Japanese for flower viewing)! I can almost see sakura petals in the cup. ;)
The Japanese often pair sencha with sweets (wagashi), and I think this tea is exactly the result of such pairing. I am impressed :)
Preparation
This is my first lavender tea ! Thank you so much LaFleurBleue for sharing it with me.
we are first hit by a wonderful scent of lavender, I mean a real true lavender exactly like the one you can smell everywhere in Provence (or in the grand’ma’s armory ;) ) this is really enjoyable.
Again, I love the high quality muslin sachet of this brand…so perfect that none tea leaf manage to pass though !
the tea base is pleasant and really good but I was thinking it may have been a little bit stronger – but it’s perfect like that either.
The taste of lavender is absolutely lovely.
While cooling, the tea becomes stronger and different but the wonderful taste & scent of lavender remains intact.
A very lovely tea
Preparation
Contessa Grey is one of the most creative blend I’ve ever tasted. Who would have thought of blending shiso with Earl Grey? ;) I’d say this is a successful, tasty formula! I don’t know how to describe the unique taste of shiso, but it’s refreshing, somewhat herbal (taste of leafy herbs), and very fragrant. When shiso and bergamot go together, the result is a cup with such refined, elegant aroma – just like some kind of new Asian perfume! Taste-wise it is like a stronger version of Earl Grey. I don’t like eucalyptus but since it’s not terribly present, I don’t find it a problem in this tea. I feel sad that this is my last bag! :(
