Love this tea when I have a head cold! The cinnamons strong enough to clear my sinus’s and the apple is a nice after flavor. BUT if I’m not sick it actually burns my sinus so bad I become stuffy and my eyes water! I do keep this as a staple though. Love to have it on hand for when a cold starts, it seems to chase it away real quick. So I guess this would be a medical tea for me.
Preparation
Discovered a delicious combo. I use one bag of this and one bag of the sugar cookie sleigh ride and then it tastes like a spiced sugar cookie! For a bagged tea I really like this one. Nice one to have when I am craving some ginger.
Preparation
Pretty good. A little tart, but nothing that can’t be fixed with some honey or sugar, and a little less steep time for me. (I have a habit of letting these stringless tea bags sit for too long at the bottom of my mug.) Perfect for sore throats and cold winter afternoons. I bet it’s good iced, too.
I discovered this gem while touring Celestial Seasoning’s plant in Boulder Thanksgiving of 2011. I highly recommend the tour and tasting room to anyone who finds themselves in the area! While on the tour, the guide told us about an extra-caffeinated tea that had been discontinued, but recently brought back into production due to its large cult following. Being a graduate student who regularly works late into the night, I had to check it out. From the first sip, I was hooked!
I bought an entire case (6 boxes) in the gift shop after the tour and ordered another case online a few months after that. I went through a phase where I was completely obsessed with this tea. I still adore it, and it’s probably the only bagged tea that I will regularly buy when it runs out. My caffeine tolerance is not what it used to be, so I haven’t enjoyed a cup of Fast Lane for a very long time until last night when I needed an extra caffeine boost. I was a little surprised by how much I still love it after making the switch to loose tea.
I love the smell of this both bagged and brewed. The cinnamon dominates and has the quality reminiscent of baked cookies (rather than red hot candies). There’s also a sweetness that I think comes from the cola nut. It’s divine. This tea is really smooth, so long as you pay attention to steeping time.
It sounds completely crazy, but sometimes I wish there was a caffeine free variety of Fast Lane. I know it completely defeats the purpose, but it tastes so damn good that I wish I could drink it more often without staying up all night!
Preparation
Having a nice quiet eve at home. When reading a good book I love a large hot strong cup of chai. And this certainly holds up to some cream and sugar, they seam to bring out all the flavors of the honey, vanilla, and spices. Nothings smothered! Very Good.
Preparation
One of the best teas ever, and I’m proud to say that about a cheaper, bagged tea! It truly smells and tastes like a fruit tea should. It’s very sweet, which is a good alternative for when you’re tempted to make a hot chocolate – I just add a bit of sugar and wait for it to cool down. I’ve liked this tea for years, as I can remember drinking this as a kid.
Preparation
A sampler pack had a few of these bags. They smell is amazing. It’s not as herbal, more of a sweet aromatic smell that reminded me of those candies I used to enjoy during a Sunday Church Service. If you’ve never tried it, you’ll appreciate it.
This teabag doesn’t have the rope, which is perfect for my Tetsubin.
Preparation
I loathe the original Sleepytime, I think because of the chamomile. There’s chamomile here too, natch, but much like the proverbial spoonful of sugar, the vanilla in this one helps the medicine go down. I keep a box of this in my cupboard at all times, to be consumed whenever the insomnia beast rears its ugly head. Works for me.
Tasty, but frighteningly sweet, and this from someone who typically adds sugar (lots and lots of sugar) to her tea. Spicy, but in an atypical sort of way. I expected something a bit more chai-like, I suppose. Ended up leaving the carton behind at my old workplace and probably wouldn’t buy this one again.
Wow. This is so minty, the kind of burn-your-throat-going-down minty. I really can’t taste anything else, and I’m not sure I would say it tastes like a candy cane. It’s definitely a sweet sort of mint, but wow. Even on the second and third steeping it is strong!
This tea actually tastes pretty good to me. I normally don’t like licorice at all, but I didn’t find it overpowering at all. It definitely helps me sleep when I’m sick (I have a hard time feeling comfortable with a sort throat when I’m trying to sleep). The chamomile and the mint are the strongest flavors for me, and I love both. It also leaves a pleasant soothing feeling in my throat, although it doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to. I guess if you are looking for relief from a sore throat, Robitussin is still the way to go. Just drink this after and you’ll be feeling better in no time :)
I went tea shopping today and I saw this tea peaking out of one of the shelves! I bought it thinking it would taste really good. It turns out that I’m a fool of a took! This tea was a nightmare. When it was steeping it smelled like cinnamon bananas.. strange. Also it has a really weird after taste. I probably won’t be drinking this again.
