1598 Tasting Notes
I might be just a little chai on life. I finished this cup and am down to 164, even though I didn’t have much time to log tea today.
I did find this amazing gifset on tumblr though: http://destiel-is-my-canon.tumblr.com/post/76689869658/asdfghjkl-i-cant-justdestiel#notes Yeah….. there’s nothing going on behind those looks. Nope, nope nope.
And here’s a lovely and heartbreaking post-reichenbach Sherlock comic strip: http://asset-9.soup.io/asset/3777/0315_9fd1.jpeg
I also created my own ridic tumblr and am having fun with it. I had to start queuing stuff because I want to reblog everything. :P
Another successful sample from MissB! Well, as successful as I can get with my nose stuff up again. I wouldn’t mind being a sleeping bear myself and just skipping the rest of winter!
From what I can taste of this, this tea is a nice refreshing green with a bit of buttery vegetal notes. There’s also more to it – like pine needles. I’ll have to resteep it!
Also I’ll try the last of it later when I can fully appreciate the nuances.
Bedtime sipdown (166!)
This is such a great tea. So relaxing and citrusy, and I can even handle all the chamomile!
Maybe I’ll hit 150 before the end of the month after. Only if my samples fromm MissB and Aun-Juli are late, but either way I’ll probably be close, and that’s good enough for me. I’m not going to push because I have tons of new teas to try and don’t want to worry just about rotating the old out.
To be honest, I wasn’t too enthused about this tea that MissB gave me a sample of, but that was stupid of me. This tea is amazing and so great. It tastes lime like mint chocolate, with dark rich chocolate, yet there is only mint added in.
That’s either magic or expert blending! Thank you so much!
(I wish I could wax poetic about this one, but I can barely keep my eyes open! )
ETA: SIPDOWN 167!
I’ll have to place an order some time!
And I’m glaring at you Sil! :P No one wants to the be the loser in a 3 person race. I guess I get Bronze, but… bleh.
I re-steeped this three times, and it was really good! It still surprises me that 10 seconds is the right amount of time to steep, but apparently it is. APPARENTLY.
It started off as sweet and lightly creamy, but progressed to a woodsier brew. I probably could have kept going with it but I dumped my leaves into the sink and then figured it was time to move onto a different tea. But I am learning to enjoy puerhs more and maybe there’s something to Sheng.
This tea really made me happy I grabbed the Amoda box because I likely would not have had it any time soon and getting pushed out of my comfort zone is just what I need!
Preparation
….there are a few that i’ve set aside for you to try at my place…as i get through my samples, i’m just saving half of all of them for you :) then you can explore lots of puerhs without buying any, since terri and grace and a few others have been overly generous to me
Thanks MissB!
This is really good. I love the spices and chocolate in this. YES! It’s much sweeter and more enjoyable than I would have expected from Moriarty, but there is a little bit of ginger in there just to make it… interesting.
Don’t turn your back on this!
I wanted this tea after reading OMGsrsly’s giggling review.
And this name does deserve giggles!
But it’s also actually pretty tasty! It’s a nice black, with a bit of creaminess. Quite enjoyable!
Thanks MissB!
So I’ve had these for a week or so and haven’t tried ANY of my Night Vale sampler. I think I’m worried I’ll fall in love with all of them and want to buy 3 oz of each! /0\
That’s a pretty ridiculous worry though!
I chose thise one as I’d already boiled the water and most of the teas in this pack have a rec’d temperature that is lower. I basically had 3 choices. :P
This one is dark and slightly smokey and spicy with the cinnamon. I thought it was puerh actually. It makes me think of damp earth and hellhounds giving chase during a storm. It’s not a bad start to the set, but this is probably NOT one I’d need to repurchase.
I love the tin though.
What do you guys do with your Adagio tins?
Preparation
Aaaaaah we order the Nightvale sampler and the Scott Pilgrim sampler and we are itching to get our hands on them.
As for the tins, you can use them to keep little things in your purse, or refill them with teas you want to sip down so you’re more likely to reach for them. Use them to hold little crafting supplies…heck you could use them as spice jars, even!
Hmmmm… those are all very good ideas…
I like the Shadow box displays Adagio sells but wouldn’t want to pay ship that.
I hope your samplers come in soon! I was so impatient waiting for mine. :)
Yay for first Nightvale tea tasting!
The shadowbox displays are neat but waaaaaaay overpriced for the amount of tea you’re getting. The tins look like the small tin of Konami blend I got in my last order (not the tin size I sent you Cavo, this was like less that half that size) and there’s maybe 2-3tsp of tea in them, maybe 4 depending on the blend, probly closer to 2 if the tea is fluffy inside. So aside from getting a nifty looking bit of wall art (which I guess is the main reason for buying something like that) you’re better off buying a sampler for the same price. More tea and you still are getting pretty artsy tins. Lol.
This was one of the many teas MissB sent my way, and I am quite happy that she did. I’d never tried any Whispering Pines, and this tea is quite nice. Thank you!
It’s got that chocolate malt flavour that you find in Verdant’s Laoshan Black, and it has a little bit of astringency at the end of the sip; but it’s astringent in a good way – not bitter. It seems to have a touch of honey in there too, or at least I imagine it.
Oh, and the chocolate notes linger long after each sip – just the way I like my chocolate….
Flavors: Chocolate, Honey, Malt
Preparation
And that’s the end of this one! (174) (backlog)
I have to say I was really surprised by how good this is. And I’ve sent it on to a few people for samples and everyone else loved it to.
So, if you’re curious, try it!
Eeee!!!! That gifset is AWESOME. I had to start queuing stuff too, otherwise there’d be like 80billion reblogs one or two days a week. :)
Hahahahaha. Well you’ll see that one again soon. :)
