Thank you Nicole for your generous sample.
I made this tea without reading reviews. I thought that it would be light white citrus tea. Nope. this tea is bitter. smells floral, even kind of jasmine to me. after reading the review i increased the temp from 175F to 200F. maybe like 5 sec steep. the bitterness increased. im not used to such tea so i cannot fully appreciated it. therefore no rating

This tea is amazing. I was dying to try aged white tea. Most of the time white tea taste like water to me, slightly colored. this tea is gorgeous mix of green and brown leaves with fuzzy tips. i looked at leaves for at least 3 min that how fascinating they are.
185F 10/15/30/45 150ml gaiwan
wet leaves smell kinda roasty and nutty, not floral. very comforting. clean sweet and smooth. it became even sweeter with later steeps.

Preparation
haha. so far i’ve been so impressed with shang. when/if i ever have less tea in my cupboard to the point i can reorder, i’d give them my business in a heartbeat.
After my disappointment with Fauchon’s Raspberry Macaron I decided I need something tried and true. Always delivers. Dark chocolate, rye bread, rose and citrus( not much actually, maybe it’s getting old). I still love it.
Steeped in gaiwan, short 3 steeps like 15 sec combined in a cup
Preparation
It’s bitter, so bitter that I’m unable to drink it. I dumped the cup. I steep for 3 min 195F. Should I lower the temp more? No rating until I figure out what’s the parameters.
Preparation
I had such a high hope. Another thing it’s too flowery for me. Even when I choose perfume I usually avoid lilacs, freesia. I’m more into vanilla almond peach. This tea has very strong perfume.
had the same exact experience with this tea! mine also got very bitter & also it’s way too floral for my tastes
whew, i thought it me. i want to experiment over the weekend. maybe i’ll coldsteep it.
@ifjuly. except for this tea we are basically on the same page;)
i sent samples of this tea to everyone who asked when i first swooned about it, both off and online, and not a single person liked it. then i bought 3 tins of it so i can have as much quality time alone with it as i wish, haha.
Perfect just perfect. Had 2 steeps and I’m going to cold steep in fridge. When i looked at my previous note I mention coconut. No coconut, it’s shouldn’t even be there, but it smelled so incredible yummy I wanted coconut in there. Probably oolong itself has some coconut notes ( at least to me).
