433 Tasting Notes
I am not sure what makes this blend so awful (especially because I really like the regular vanilla chai by Bigelow), but it is terrible. This is one of the few teas I’ve tried one bag of and then given away (I usually give everything at least 2, maybe 3-4 tries before I decide I don’t care for it).
I haven’t tried a lot of oolongs, and I think this is the first bagged oolong I’ve tasted. It’s good, not outstanding, but better than I expected from a bagged tea. Nice mellow flavour with a bit of a slightly smoky aftertaste. I have to say, I don’t find the smell of oolong tea very appealing, but that doesn’t really detract from my ability to enjoy the tea overall. I rarely ever drink tea with milk, but I’d like to try some in this in the future.
I have always wanted a standard mint tea made with BLACK tea (I can’t stand herbal) and this is just that. Nothing special, but decent black tea with a strong mint flavour. I found this while in Vermont, but I hope they’ll carry it here too so I can buy more when I run out!
That’s it, I had the last bag today… I’m leaving for VT tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed that I’ll find it there! I’ll definitely buy 2 or 3 boxes of this next time I see it. Overall, I think it was my favourite tea of 2009, all things considered! Okay, maybe not absolute favourite but top 3 for sure.
I hesitated about adding this to the database since this is a concoction and not really a tea per se, but even if I’m the only one who uses this entry, I’ll use it enough to make it worthwhile!
I get this at a restaurant we eat at frequently… I’d never heard of it before. I get it without honey, so it’s basically just steamed milk and earl grey tea but it’s really lovely. They use Celestial Seasonings tea, but I don’t hold that against them.
Because it’s a blended drink at a restaurant, and not a tea that you can go buy at a store. I just haven’t really seen too many cafe-made tea drinks listed here, but maybe I don’t pay close enough attention!
Eh, then no one could ever log tea when they go out to eat. All of Starbucks’ tea lattes are here. Just because you didn’t buy the raw leaves and steep it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t log it:)
Okay, it’s been freezing here and I just wanted my usual Friday comfort drink so I wasn’t brave enough to try the teabag version of this instead of my usual concentrate version. It’s only noon, but this drink was definitely the highlight of my day!
I went through a big green tea phase a while ago and went through several boxes of this blend. I don’t generally enjoy drinking green tea these days, but this is still one of my favourites when I do drink it. Nice mellow blend without the overwhelming rice taste that many green teas have.
