I thought this was THE one for me. My two favourite things rolled into one. I am enjoying it immensely, but I wish that the oolong was a bit less roasty, more floral, and that the grapefruit made me pucker. That’s okay. It’s still drinkable, and I still get some notes of grapefruit. The oolong is quite nice, and I think that my note will be biased because I had such high hopes, and now they’ve been dashed. It’s nice on the tongue: The oolong gives the first impression, then the citrus-y flavour of the grapefruit can be tasted at the back of the tongue, and lingers in the after taste.
Oh what’s the point in hiding my disappointment? I feel like Charlie Brown.

I think that the ginger and the spiciness is just drowned out by stevia in this blend. It leaves a really brutal aftertaste, one that I haven’t noticed so much in other teas that contain stevia. I only tried it in store, as it was the tea of the day the last time I was in – Maybe if I brew it myself and make it a bit stronger, the stevia won’t be as offensive. But really, if I have to make an effort to like a tea, I really shouldn’t bother. There are too many better ones out there!!! I’ll leave it unrated for now though.. Would hate to give it a biased rating.

Not my favourite – The rooibos was pretty strong tasting in this blend. I think it could use more of any of the flavours. That being said, it was a comforting, drinkable cup as I made my way through Chinatown, and I enjoyed it quite a bit all the same. It doesn’t actually taste like anything campfire – It just looks like a campfire. It’s quite the pretty blend! But if you’re looking for a rooibos tea that doesn’t taste like rooibos (like I often do), don’t go for it.

Yummy!! This is what DT’s Pink Flamingo was SUPPOSED to be like, but wasn’t. I think they must have added something extra to the same blend, and it didn’t work out. For all you Pink Flamingo lovers, get your fill from Herbal Infusions!! There was still something I didn’t like about this blend, either the carrot or the eucalyptus. But it was still a great cup, one that I could have again. I enjoyed that it was light and fruity, much lighter than most of the fruity teas that you find out there nowadays. Give it a shot! It’s a beautiful loose leaf as well – and steeps up a nice rosy pink. It really hit the spot.

I don’t know why, but this tea is not on the website – BUT I went into the store today, and grabbed a selection of teas to try – This is one of them. And thank goodness for that. The name struck me as so interesting, and the scent was just divine. So I brought it home, and it was one of the first ones I steeped. OH my GOODNESS. This tea is liquid gold. Or, maybe liquid rubies, considering it’s bright red (the hibiscus, I’m sure). It tastes like berries and ice cream, and is one of the greater tea experiences I’ve had. I sucked the cup dry. I’m currently resteeping it (which I normally DON’T do), and it smells just as divine. It’s dessert in a cup. Even all you hibiscus haters will probably love this. I can’t wait til Dan gets this up on his site, because I want the whole world to drink this. Best cup of tea I’ve had in a LONG time, and this will be part of my permanent collection, that’s for sure. I think it was made just for me.

Hamburger? I’m assuming it doesn’t actually have hamburger IN It? Vegetarian Friendly???

Angrboda

I suspect it has to do with the city Hamburg, not the food. :)

AliPants

I think Angrboda is right.. It’s just a berry mix, as in some type of European dessert that seems to have been kept secret from us North Americans. Apparently, even their Apple Smoked Bacon tea is vegetarian friendly!! Names can be so misleading, nowadays.

Delicate and flavourful. I’m not a fan of the grenadine (it tastes like those chalky valentine’s day heart candies), but I can see how lots of people would enjoy this blend immensely. If I want vanilla in my black tea, I much much prefer DT’s Cream of Earl Grey or Buttered Rum. I’ll leave my grenadine in my Shirley temples, thank you!

drank Deep Green Embrace by Tealish

I’ve been drinking Deep Green Embrace more and more – And tonight’s cup was positively delightful. It’s the peppermint that gives the tingle – It actually feels like I’ve washed my mouth with the best mouthwash ever made. This tea is no longer “relatively enjoyable” – it’s positively delightful. I’ve also noticed that drinking raspberry leaf tea really does help with all of those womanly things it’s intended for – So drink up, ladies!! Although the price tag of 9.00/50g is a little steep (especially for an herbal), it’s honestly worthwhile – It’s lighter so you get a larger size bag full, and it tastes unbelievable, if you’re into spice. Previously I said it wasn’t refreshing, but I take it back – I take it all back! It’s light, refreshing and I’ve relaxed myself into a near stupor with tonight’s cup.

drank Bear Trap by DAVIDsTEA

Yum yum yum!! I’ve been drinking WAY too much of this lately. Its so flavourful, and I can actually bear (hehe) the tartness without any sugar. I’ve also been doubling up the tea because I like it strong.. about 6 tsps of tea per 10 oz or so, then I’ve been running it over ice. It’s maybe a little over the top. Nothing bad happens if you oversteep this one, too :-) which is a HUGE plus for me, as I tend to be incredibly careless with steep time.
All I can say is, it’s super satisfying after a long day, with a meal, by itself, or just when thirsty :-)
Just so much bear-y!
All that being said, I haven’t tried it hot. Oops.

I just purchased this online, as it has come “back from the dead”. My first try of this tea I brewed it to the exact parameters on the bag and thought it tasted awful because it was incredibly tart! Anyway, I decided that people must have voted for this tea for a reason, so I’m giving it another shot today. I used a lower temperature water than directed, hoping it wouldn’t be as tart as the first time I tried it. And it’s actually quite lovely.
It brews into a wonderful peach colour, though I expected the hibiscus and the strawberry to turn it a light pink. I added some agave to it to try and circumvent the tartness I had gotten before, and it tastes quite a bit like my mother’s strawberry rhubarb crumble in a cup, yet without the almost unbearable tartness of the rhubarb. I’m also getting some apple notes out of this tea, which I don’t enjoy so much, but overall it is an adequate blend. Not as good as some other DT blends, however. I also have a feeling that since its original release, these teas have been re-blended and don’t taste the same as they originally did. Can anyone corroborate this theory?
I do look forward to cold steeping this one! Update on that to come (eventually) :-)

Bio

I am a student on a mission to spend all of my hard earned cash on tea, and don’t have time to waste on a bad cup of tea!
I love DavidsTea, mostly because it is easily accessible for me and I like my tea on the sweeter side. I’m looking to expand further into the tea world, especially in terms of oolong and herbal teas.
My favourite teas are anything spicy, especially with cloves and/or cinnamon, anything nutty, minty, earthy, floral or citrus-y.
I am forever on a mission for a life altering grapefruit tea.
