As a lover of blueberry teas I give this a big thumbs up. Lots of juicy blueberry taste with the nutmeg adding some warmth. The nutmeg isn’t noticeable in the first few sips, but it slowly makes its presence known and works well with the blueberry flavor. I do wish the base tea had a bit more oomph. I think having more oolong flavor could send this tea over the top. But overall this is a really nice tea.

I’ve written a bazillion notes on this tea, so let me just say that I’m still drinking it and every mug is wonderful. Amen.

I am too tired to do this tasting note justice, but I wanted to enter something while my this tea is still on my mind.

This is a sample from the traveling tea box. I thought I had made my way through all of teas I had pulled from there, but I found this in the bottom of my sample drawer while I was reorganizing. Oops! I was already in the mood for an unflavored black, so I went ahead and brewed it up.

This is my first tea from Nepal, and I have to say I’m impressed. It’s so much like a Darjeeling, but it’s more. The tea brews into a pale copper color and has an aroma of clean, dry hay. The initial sip is grassy followed by a beautiful fruity floral note. The astringency is moderate and pleasant. I actually said something like, “Oh! Wow!” after I took my first sip. It’s so good. The second steep was just as lovely as the first, and I’m hoping to get a third steeping from the leaves tomorrow.

I know Teavana discontinued this tea, but I will be on the lookout for other teas from Nepal. Hopefully they will be as good because I am loving this tea.

Have you ever craved a tea but couldn’t figure out which tea you wanted or even what you were looking for in the tea? (Calm and refreshing? Brisk? Dark? Light?) That was me as I stared at all of my teas. I have so many favorites and a bunch of new teas to try, but nothing was really speaking to me.

Enter Irish Breakfast. It’s basic, sturdy, and strong. There’s a good amount of maltiness and the taste of good crusty bread. It’s nothing I need to over think. Just a simple cup I can sip and enjoy while getting on with my day.

So it is raining cats and dogs this morning. My driveway and street are flooded causing all of my plans to be cancelled. Normally this would bother me, but I’ve been running around like crazy for the past several days and could use the break. And with any good break there must be tea!

Since there was no need to wake anyone up I decided to sit on my porch with a cup of this tea and watch the rain. It turned out to be a good choice. I love the taste of the mint and marshmallow together with the sencha flavor peeking through every now and then. So nice. The vanilla and the malt add those extra layers of flavor that turn this tea into something special. Absolutely perfect for a rainy day like today.

This was a huge hit. I served it with dinner tonight, and everyone loved it. I made the tea early this afternoon, sweetened it with a quarter cup of sugar, and left it in the fridge to cool. When I served it both of my kids told me repeatedly how good it was and that it tasted just like watermelon. It was a nice tea. The taste was all melon. If I really paid attention I could taste the tea itself, but it was better to enjoy the sweet fruitiness. There’s not much left in the pitcher, and I’m sure someone will finish it off soon. So I’ll probably resteep the bag and have another pitcher of watermelon yumminess waiting for my family to enjoy tomorrow. If I’m lucky I might even be able to snag a glass or two myself.

This was not at all what I was expecting. It was better. I was expecting a spicy chai with a kicky mate taste and a hint of pineapple. The tea turned out to be a sweet chai with the lingering taste of pineapple where all the flavors – the roasted mate, chai spices, pineapple, and vanilla – are so well balanced that I kept sipping it and just savoring the mix of flavors. If you like pineapple flavored teas in any form or fashion I highly recommend this one. It’s excellent.

I had this tea last summer and really enjoyed it. In fact, I liked it so much that I wrote a note on my calendar to order more this summer. Now that summer is almost over (sob!) I am rushing to do all the summery fun things I’ve been putting off. This is definitely a fun tea.

I decided to ice this one. Once brewed it has the grape-y floral scent of wine. The taste is true to its name – a cold, sweet iced wine. The pear flavor is a nice touch because it keeps the tea from having a slight edge that might otherwise be there. Also, the flavors are very mellow which I like in this tea. A lot of times when I choose to drink a flavored tea I want flavor, but this tea is subtle and I find it a delightful change of pace.

This is an okay herbal. Its generic berry rather than blueberry, and I don’t taste the yogurt flavor at all. The lemongrass adds a nice zing to the tea. I feel that a lot of times lemongrass is overused, but it’s fairly well balanced here. So, rather than juicy blueberry I taste berry-lemon. As herbals go this one’s alright.

I was considering having this one iced, but I chose to have it hot because I love the smell of it so much. Just having a mug of this sitting on my desk makes the room smell divine. The jasmine and lavender are wonderful together, and even though the scent is unmistakably floral the tea itself can easily be tasted along with the floral notes.

There is only enough leaf left for me to have one more cup of this lovely tea. Yet another reason to make a trip to Premium Steap (Emperor’s Red and Organic Black with Coconut being the other reasons).
