A nice English breakfast tea. There’s nothing that’s making me do a double take at my cup, but it’s easy enough to sip on while I get on with my day.

Whispering Pines could well be the death of my pocketbook. Now that I’ve tried a few of their teas I want to order everything they’ve got. I’ve enjoyed all the teas I’ve tried from them, and the mint chocolate chip is no exception.

This was a sample that was added to my order, and I’m so glad it was. There’s a great mint flavor with a dark chocolate note that is steady through the sip. Usually if/when I taste chocolate it’s at the end of the sip, so I really enjoyed having it present from start to finish. The tea is also very smooth, and while it’s not overly sweet the mint adds enough sweetness that I didn’t feel the need to add sugar to my cup. Plus, it resteeps very well. I’ve steeped the leaves three times now, and the flavor has been consistent with each cup. Win!

This one needs to always be in my cupboard.

Ohhhh your order just gave me the best idea…get excited for your sample! :D

Woot! :)

This is my kind of cookie in a cup. Lightly sweet, lots of almond flavor, and even though it is a white tea there is a bread-y flavor that lends a distinct cookie taste. Plus, this is a tea bag, so it’d be so easy to throw a few in my purse to keep on hand for tea emergencies. I’d definitely pick some up if I were to happen across them.

Thank you OMGsrsly for giving me the chance to try this one.

drank Lemon Soleil by Adagio Teas

Meh. This tea is too harsh. The black tea is overly astringent, and the lemon has an unpleasant bite to it. I added some sugar and that helped a little, but it’s still making my jaw clinch every now and then.

Oh well, I guess you can’t win them all. Maybe I’ll try cold brewing the rest of my sample.

TeaBrat

it does sound like a better iced tea than a hot tea

I had plans for NYE, but my family rebelled. That means tonight’s party will now involve Despicable Me 2, popcorn, pajamas, and my family tucked under covers. As much as I love getting dressed up and going out, I have to admit that this sounds like the perfect way to ring in the new year (if we’re even awake at midnight).

This tea is a lot like my plans for this evening, relaxed. The mint and vanilla are as great as always, and the base tea is good. Nothing over the top, but every time I drink it I enjoy.

Is the popcorn seriously obvious?

Veronica

The popcorn in the tea doesn’t add any sort of flavor, but there are fully popped pieces mixed in with the tea. I’ve started picking it out just because it makes me think of Genmaicha.

Despicable Me 2 was pretty cute. We watched it with the toddler but it was mostly for me. :P (Having a kid is a great excuse).

Hope you have a great night!

Sounds like the perfect evening to me except you should have had Ba Na Na with your tea, or a tea that smells like bottom (hehe bottom). Seriously loved the movie. My icon on FB is me in a crocheted minion hat a lady at church gave me. When she gave it to me, I put it on immediately and wen BE Do Be Do Be Do! Saw this the first time with a cinema full of 12 year olds – I was the one with the beard.

Veronica

The movie was good. My whole family enjoyed it. My only moment of concern was when my daughter asked if lipstick tazers could be purchased at the store. The last thing I need is for her to be armed and dangerous! My son has been playing minion videos this morning on YouTube and laughing his head off. Too funny.

drank Lemon Rose Bud by Fusion Teas

This is a lovely oolong.

The dry leaves are pretty. Tightly rolled tea leaves and adorable rose buds. The dry leaves smell strongly of lemon. The floral scent form the rose is there, but it’s barely detectable.

Once infused the floral scent becomes much more prominent. Really nice. The taste is a mix of lemon and floral – not rose necessarily – with an almost buttery flavor from the oolong. I’m not getting any ginger, but to be honest I’m glad. I think the ginger would detract from the tea. It’s so delicate, light, and flavorful.

For the second infusion I added some sugar to my cup, and it tasted just like my great grandmother’s lemonade. She would add rose water to her lemonade right before serving it, and to this day it is the best lemonade I’ve ever had. The sugar heightens both the lemon and rose flavor, but it does hide the flavor of the oolong. Still, as a summertime treat I think this would be spectacular iced.

I’m already wishing I had bought more than a sample size of this one. It’s a keeper.

Oh yeah, lots of cocoa notes and very very smooth. This tea is nothing short of wonderful. There is also a honey like sweetness at the end of the sip that makes me smile. Even though i’m sitting here thinking chocolate! honey! this is not a sweet tea. Rather it’s a wonderful plain black tea that hints at some things I find incredibly yummy.

This is a tea I can definitely get used to drinking. Thank you OMGsrsly for sending it my way!

I like minty teas. I like smokey teas. I love this minty smokey tea!

I must admit that the first time I made it I over steeped by two minutes, and the lapsang souchong overwhelmed the mint. The next cup I watched with greater care, and the result was a delightfully minty tea with plenty of smokey notes. The mix of smoke and mint is delicious, and the tea has a very smooth quality that makes me want to continue to sip and enjoy. This is the tea I’ll have in my mug the next time it snows. Sipping on a cup of this while tucked under blankets and watching the snow fall is my idea of winter perfection. (Note that my idea of a perfect winter involves not going outside!)

Glad you’re enjoying this, Veronica! :)

It’s great, and the multiple infusions make it that much better. Now I have my eye on the mint chocolate chip sample you sent… :)

drank Peppermint Rooibos by Rishi Tea
1118 tasting notes

This is a nice mint tisane. Lots of peppermint flavor. The rooibos is there but it’s light. This is wonderful after a day of indulging in too much good food and way too much sugar. Mint is a wonderful thing.

My sister gave me several different Rishi tea bags, and I’ve been happy with them so far. They’ve been very convenient and great quality. I’m looking forward to giving the rest of them a try.

This is a nice one. Very floral with something that hints at spice after the sip. There’s also notes of hay and the astringency that’s common with Darjeelings. Mmmmm. AS the tea cools I get more fruit than flowers. A lot of fruit actually. Very sweet and bright.

Thanks OMGsrsly for sending this to me. It’s been on my shopping list for forever, so it’s nice to finally have the chance to try it. It’s delicious! Also, it’s staying on my shopping list because I’m probably going to need more of this sooner rather than later. :)

In other news… I am officially finished with Christmas orders! I put the tag and cleaning instructions on the last two pieces I made, and they are boxed up and about to be shipped out. My Christmas vacation has begun! Yay!!!
