Tea of the morning. Black currant is one of those flavors that I think I won’t enjoy, but then I try it and really like it. Then, after a few months, I think I don’t like it again. What’s up with that?
Anyway, I like this tea. It has a wonderful sweet/tart flavor, and I find it very comforting. We’re having a cold and rainy day here today, and being curled up with a mug of this tea and a good book sounds like heaven.

Nope. This tea is not for me. It has a strange sour note that I don’t enjoy at all. I’m not sure if it’s from the orange peel or the yogurt, but blah. I ended up dumping the last few sips because I just couldn’t drink anymore.

I was expecting blueberry lemon. I got smokey lemon. At first I thought the tea had been contaminated from sitting in the tea box, but after reading other reviews it looks like the Keemun base of this tea is over ridding most of the fruit flavors. After I accepted that there wasn’t going to be a lot of blueberry action going on in my cup I was able to enjoy this tea for what it was. I do wish I had a lemon to squeeze into my cup, but I settled for a bit of sugar instead.

First, thank you to the kind folks at Just Organic Tea for the amazingly generous set of samples they sent. I’m looking forward to trying them all!
Just Outstanding Orange Spice was the sample I originally requested, so it is the one I chose to try first. The dry leaf smells amazing. It made my entire kitchen smell like Christmas, all cinnamon and clove.
I steeped the tea according to the directions on the label (195 degrees for 3- 5 minutes). The liquid was pale amber, and the smell was still full of spice, but it wasn’t as strong as the dry leaf. The taste, not surprisingly, was also spice. The dominate spice was cinnamon, but there was a fair amount of clove as well. I could not pick up any orange flavor which was kind of disappointing. I will say that the base tea is really, really good and has a presence even with the strong spices. It is smooth with no bitterness or astringency. There is also a forest floor note that I really liked.
If I were in the mood for an orange tea I’d have to look elsewhere, but if I were in the mood for a cinnamon or spice tea I would happily take a cup of this.

Tea of the morning. I woke up an hour before my alarm was set to go off, and my mind began whirling with all of the things I need/want to get accomplished this week. Oy. Since it was obvious I wasn’t going back to sleep, and because my cat noticed I was awake and began meowing incessantly, I decided to get out of bed and enjoy some Tiger Assam.
Love the depth of this tea. It’s so full of malt and rich raisin-y sweetness. If I have to be awake before my alarm orders me out of bed then this is the tea I want in my cup.
Preparation
My cat sits on my chest and licks my nose, and then when I finally open my eyes, she starts running in between the food cupboard and the bed with a look that says “Oh well, since you are awake, you might as well feed me”
Cats… :)
Oh goodness! I adore this tea. The dry leaves look like soft little pillows. Adorable. The infused tea is delicious. The taste is very slightly like steamed veggies. There is also a salty buttery note and a fruity finish. I feel like I am explaining this tea so poorly because the description sounds weird, but the taste is amazing. I’ve never tasted anything like it before, but I am loving it. It also resteeps incredibly well. With the second steep there was more fruit. With the third and fourth steeps there was a nice mix of salted butter and fruit. Good stuff!
Thank you Angel and Teavivre for the chance to sample this tea. Between this tea and the Dragonwell you have made a green tea lover out of me!

Another yummy passion fruit tea! I enjoyed the green tea base of this one. The clean grassy notes complimented the passion fruit flavor nicely. I’d love to try this one iced, but making iced tea takes a lot of leaf, and I want other people to have the chance to enjoy this little gem. It’s a good one!
This one will be added to my shopping list.

I have read such wonderful things about River Tea that I was excited to try one of their offerings. If their other teas meet the high quality of this one then I’m not surprised that so many people on Steepster enjoy them!
This is a beautiful oolong. There is so much fresh, juicy raspberry flavor. There is also the buttery flavor of the oolong. The combination is outstanding. I resteeped my leaves twice, and the balance of flavor remained the same for each cup. It’s well named, too. This really does taste like spring in a cup.
Edit: My 500th tasting note! Yay!
Color me impressed. This is really nice. It has a fair amount of malt and sweetness to it. What I really like about it is how smooth and thick it feels. For a tea bag tea this is amazing. It’s also a nice change from the other breakfast teas in my cupboard.
Yet another tea I can see myself getting more of. This one I’d love to have on hand for when I travel.
Jealous of the home with book aspect of your day!
It was just wishful thinking. I spent my morning at the doctor’s office with my son. Poor kid has a sinus infection. :(
:( indeed. Hope you can find some cozy time soon.
