drank Crannyberry by Joy's Teaspoon

Will write a proper tasting note later. Tried this tonight (first Joy’s Teaspoon tea I tried without having tasted or smelled). It was delicious – the black tea was definitely there, but a background to complement the cranberry, etc. Yum!

drank Lemon Zest by Joy's Teaspoon

My tea arrived!

I still get a sweet lemon flavour (if that makes sense) but this was perfect for me and my cold. I still can taste things (I think!) but the lemon was a little mild and nice for my throat. Yay!

Backlog:

Yummy nummy. Don’t know if it will help make me healthy, but it tasted great (since I could still taste this morning). Big travel mug kept me warm on my way to work. Perfect!

drank Electric Lemon by DAVIDsTEA
709 tasting notes

This cup of tea has one job and one job only: to kick my cold’s BUTT. I thought (two weeks ago) that I was getting sick, but my body saved it all up for after the wedding/first day at the new job. So, electric lemon, please make it go away, or at least numb my throat to the pain it’s currently feeling. I hope that you and detox, with a small supporting crew can make me well, double quick.

As for the taste, I’m not the best judge today, so I’ll leave it where I last rated it. I could have steeped this longer, but the beau is sharing and he is leery of an over-strong ginger taste. Oh well!

Backlog from last night:

Had a cuppa this after getting home from the weekend/wedding (not mine!) :D

We threw a little extra in there to temp out the cranberry flavour, and it almost worked. Not terrible, but I’ve got so many better..

Yum yum – Didn’t heat the water enough, so I’ve got a very mild cup here, but it’s super delicious. I also realized that the weird smell I get from the cantaloupe bai mu dan must just actualy be the smell of white tea because I got it from the apple vanilla white this morning. Yay for learnign!

Arg you! Your reviews always tempt me to cheat on DavidsTea….I can’t afford an obssession with another tea company! But everything you drink always looks so good!

Uniquity

Hah, I cheat on DT with Tea Brewery, Joy’s Teasoon and 52 Teas, but that’s about it. Love them all!

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons
709 tasting notes

Currently drinking…

I just got an e-mail from Harneys saying my order had shipped today. It’s been 8 days since I placed the order. Two days since I e-mailed them saying I am disappointed. I never heard back. Harney’s loses points for terrible customer service in this situation, but I’m glad my tea is on the way. I don’t think I’ll order from them again, but a pound of vanilla comoro should last me a while!

As for the tea, it is the second steep from my earlier cup. So delicious – I love the second steep from this!

I love this one, too, by the pound! Bummer on the shipping problem. I hope you are ready to give them another shot once your pound runs out. I think your experience is not the norm with their service.

JacquelineM

Yes, I wonder if their regular person was away or something, because I usually get incredible customer service from Harney. I hope your pound does last a good long time, but please do try them again. I think this was an exception and not the rule.

teaNsympathy

I’m so sorry to hear you’re having a bad experience with their customer service! I have to agree with the previous poster in that I’ve always had great luck with them, and was actually surprised get receive my last shipment two days after I ordered it. I can sympathize with that frustration, as by the time I place my order I’m so eager to get it that I want it delivered yesterday haha! Still, I hope this doesn’t sour you on them for good! Hopefully you’ll be enjoying that wonderful Vanilla Comoro soon!!!

Kristen

I too am sorry you have had the level of customer service you have had. I would be frustrated. However I am a regular patron of Harney’s and usually have my tea in 3 days with incredible customer service. Please try again! There teas are wonderful and customer service is usually great. Again so sorry for your delay!

Uniquity

You guys are so great – I appreciate each of your vouches (that’s NOT a word, eh? :D) for Harney’s taste and service. I will keep these thoughts in mind when I am once again in a tea buying situation.

I think part of my issue might be the usual – I’m too far North, although it doesn’t explain the delay in sending the tea. Ah well!

SimplyJenW

Now, there are benefits to being where you are! I am dying to try David’s Tea, but don’t need $50 worth right now (to avoid a huge shipping cost to the US). You better believe I will be reading over your reviews when I am ready!

drank Mojito by DAVIDsTEA
709 tasting notes

Re-steep from earlier. Switched to my more conventionally sized mug, so I can wrap my hands around it. This is the third day in a row that I’ve had a headache after lunch, so the extra mint will hopefully help with that. if not, I took an ibu, because working and smiling at people with head pain is not fun.

Mojito is delicious, at least!

Profile

Bio

I’ve been drinking loose tea since 2010 and my tastes have changed a lot over those years. For the last few, I’ve been a fan of unflavoured Chinese blacks and shu puerh. I still drink other things, but that’s where I am.

I live in a rural area with my husband, cat, and soon to be firstborn. I love tea, reading, doctor who, knitting, crosswords, board games, the marvel universe, and lots of other things.

I’m not often rating teas numerically any more but I want to leave this to explain my past ratings:
I try to only log teas once or twice because I drink a lot of the same ones repeatedly. My rating is based on my perception of the tea at first tasting and is adjusted if anything notable occurs in subsequent cups. I may also factor in the price and customer service but try to note that when I can.

81 – 100: These are great teas, I love them, regularly stock them or savour them as unique treats.
71 – 80: These are solid. I drink them, I like them, I may or may not keep them on hand regularly. This is still good stuff.
61 – 70: Just okay. I can drink it, but it doesn’t stand out to me. Might be lower quality, not to my taste, or outside my comfort zone.
41 – 60: Not likely to keep drinking…hoping hubby will enjoy!
0 – 40: No thank you, please. Take it away and don’t make me finish the cup.
