709 Tasting Notes
Oh, my precious. I am having a delicious raspberry/blackberry forward mug of this right now. I never want this pouch to end. THis rises to the top of my fruit teas AND my rooibos – A sure winner all around. I’m still hoping that this is one of my oops teas…hopefully that package arrives soon and I can find out! Wonderfully berry flavoured, very authentic and natural as opposed to sweetened fruit flavours. I love it! I really do!
Filled my travel mug with this to get to work this morning. I was a little uneasy at first, especially after my disaster with this a few weeks ago, so I had the beau make sure there weren’t too many fruit chunks in it (Maybe I can eat the extras??) and actually shook out the majority of the tea after about 10 minutes of steeping. Luckily there was a garbage can at my bus stop : )
I think the key to this for me is making sure that there aren’t too many pieces of fruit. I can’t be sure that was the culprit, but I’ve decided to err on the side of caution and am watching how many bits end up in my cup. Today, I was rewarded for this! A nice sweet fruity cup. Over time, I’ve come to find this a bit too sweet and generally enjoy Wellness more, but this is still a great treat in my cupboard, and one that I think will be delicious as an iced tea come warmer weather. In general I am not a fan of iced tea, but maybe this will be the year that changes. I think the sweetness of this tea will really pop.
Preparation
Yummy cup of this for breakfast. I could have steeped it a little bit longer to really bring out the peachiness, as I mostly had a lovely cup of black tea with a hint of peach, but that was just the morning blahs. Will do an in depth review at a later time. If I ever have time! : )
Now this is an exceptionally pleasant cup of tea. I don’t know what calendula and sunflower petals taste like, but I get a relatively strong vanilla/caramel taste, with a bit of sweet floral afterward. I was very skeptical at first, but it smells great and tastes great, and stands up to steeping very well. Something important to me as well is that I get enough tea for the beau and I in the morning with 1 or 2 teaspoons – and this tea did so admirably. We realized over the weekend that our Hungry Caterpillar mugs hold almost 16 oz of tea, so we’ve been using way less leaf than recommended. And, honestly, I really enjoy it.
Preparation
Backlog:
I had a cup of this yesterday on the weekly tea date with the beau and a good friend. I was smelling a weird variety, from Scottish Caramel Pu-Erh (Still can’t handle the Pu-Erh smell, let alone try the taste!) to Jasmine Orchard Oolong to Tropical Fire. I went with the safe bet, and was a little disappointed, honestly. My cup wasn’t rolling in any exceptional flavours and all the beautiful fruits named in the description didn’t come through to me. It was more like a watered down cup of something. Might have been a bad teaspoon, not really sure. On the plus side, the beau had Monk’s Blend and that was delicious, so we bought some!
Preparation
Big mug of this to get to work today. Unfortunately it didn’t stand up to the hour l;ong steep as well as I’d hoped and is a bit odd. Not going to change the rating because it is a brave tea that can last an hour long steep. Maybe a bit less tea and it could handle it better. Still yummy, grapefruit flavour at the end. Lemongrass is pretty strong and I am getting a bit of spiciness.
i have 4 oz. of this stuff if you want it pm me maybe we can trade rooibos isn’t my fave.
Sounds cool! We are on our second pouch now with no more in reserve. I’ve followed you, take a peek through my cupboard and PM me if anything interests you. I see that you already know the wonders of David’s Tea but I do have some other stuff if interested.
