772 Tasting Notes
Well, I picked this tea out of the cupboard using the tried and true method of ‘closing my eyes and flailing my arm around’. I wish I had picked a black tea as I’m dragging a bit this morning and I’ve picked up a nasty cold somewhere, but I shall survive.
This is a good tea, chocolatey and minty. I sweetened it a bit since I just drank some chocolate almond milk so I didn’t want to get the shock of going from sweetened beverage to unsweetened one. Still this is tasty and I’ll look forward to drinking the rest of it.
Sipdown! That I oversteeped of course, since work is busy and I forgot about it again. I should really start setting a timer or something. So a little astringent and bitter but still okay. I’ll miss this but I have too much tea to buy more of it or another maple tea.
I need to wake up this morning so I needed to start with a black tea and this one just hit the spot. I had to wait a bit for my palate to clear since I had some toast and marionberry jam right before I made this cup but it was worth the wait. I still enjoy this tea greatly and I have 1-2 cups left of my work stash. I may even have to gasp bring more tea to work!
Back to being an unmotivated lump now.
Increasing my rating on this. So so so good. Vanilla is subtle but tasty and it is just warming me up. The black tea base is fantastic and I’m just really enjoying this cup. Going to try a second steep later, I think.
In other news, it’s snowing in Seattle. WHYYYYY. I have to go somewhere in a couple of hours too and I don’t want to brave the hill I live on. I already had one doctor appointment canceled due to the weather, can’t they just cancel both? They were only 20 minutes apart!
