I needed a cup at the mere mention of this tea. Yum. I think a version of this tea will always be in my cupboard…..and I will start to panic once I see the bottom of the tin. Nah. It’ll never happen…that I see the bottom of the tin, that is. I have the stock up gene, and will always have extra!

Good Morning to my new breakfast blend! I wish I could concentrate on just you in the mornings, but my breakup with last breakfast tea was messy. I was ready, but my past love was not. I still have some things from the past relationship unfinished, which I will need time to work through. Please be patient.

Love this one. The smokiness is light, but definitely still gets me going in the morning. And I can even see a few afternoon pick me ups with Mincing Lane in my future.

Another evening cuppa? Yes, I could not resist. This is another of my reliable evening teas. Slightly sweet. Always good.

My evening cuppa. Yum. I think any blend with Vanilla Comoro is a sure winner. Sweetend and enjoyed!

I purchased this one without sampling…..I know, so weird for me. I am definitely happy with the tea. The chocolate and bergamot flavors are subtle, and I loved the touch of lemongrass. I also liked that the brew is light, rather than heavily flavored or scented. Yum!

I think there are two versions of this tea on Steepster. This is actually my second tasting note on this tea. I really like this one regarless of the fact that it is probably the most inexpensive loose tea I own. The really cool part, it is toward the top of my list! A tea bargain that makes me very happy!

My morning tea of the day. Good solid tea that is slightly sweet. Nice balance with the grenadine and vanilla with the black tea, but be careful not to oversteep. The back story on how this blend kept the monks awake for long periods of meditation……I am hoping for a little of that kind of energy today. Yes, I am going to be the optimist today and accomplish much.

This one is pretty good in the evening, but it always makes me wonder why it is hard to find a good decaf chocolate tea…. I have no problems finding good fruit flavors, and a great vanilla. Why is decaf chocolate so hard?

For this one I have to slightly heap the spoon, and I take it with milk and sweetener. I only wish the chocolate was more intense. Maybe I will have to toss in some mini chips, or some cocoa powder next time……

Second steep, I added a little more tea and a few shakes of Dutch process cocoa powder. Yum. More chocolately goodness!

I did another side by side sampling of lychee tea kind of like I did with the rose teas. I thought this one was a little light on flavor, but then I was tasting it along side the Lichee Congou “Extreme” from another merchant. I definitely need to try this one on its own before passing judgement. All in all it seemed pleasant. Looking forward to it iced in the warmer weather, which will probably be June around here…..

Having second thoughts about the perfume level in this tea. You would think the perfume would dissipate a little once the tea is brewed and the leaves removed from the cup (or premisis?). Not the case with this one. I think I am going to blend it with something else to cut the flavor a little. I do see this making fabulous iced tea when blended a little.

My motto: Drink the good tea!

Tea enthusiast, trying to keep up my cardio for the zombie apocalypse. I have come to accept that I am a western brewing black tea drinker as that is where my ‘tea heart’ lies. I started on loose leaf as a way to have my dessert and not suffer the caloric issues. Once I tried it, I was hooked.

I drink what I like, which is mostly China blacks, a few traditionally scented blacks and Earl Greys, plus a flavored tea here and there. I don’t mind spending a bit on premium varieties on occasion, but an expensive tea has to deliver. My favorite places to order are Harney & Sons and Upton Tea Imports. TeaVivre is great for Chinese tea.

My ratings are pretty subjective. If it falls under 70, I may not take the time to post about it unless I had something specific to say. If it is 70-80 I like it, but I will probably not rebuy. Favorites are over 80 and up, but sometimes the less expensive or more easily obtainable version of a similar taste will win out for my cupboard space.

Usual teapot steeping method: 24 oz teapot, 3 perfect scoops of tea (4 1/2 actual tsp), freshly boiled water, 4 minutes. Lightly sweetened.

Usual mug steeping method: 15 oz mug, 1.5 perfect scoops of tea (just over 2 actual tsp), freshly boiled water, 4 minutes. Lightly sweetened.

Usual pan method: 1 1/2 cups water, 2 perfect tsp chai (3 actual tsp). Simmer for 3 minutes. Add 2/3 cup skim milk. Simmer for 2 more minutes. Strain and sweeten.

Usual pitcher method:
5 or 6 Perfect Spoons of tea (this means about 7-9 actual tsp), freshly boiled water, brewed essentially double-strong in my 24 oz teapot for 4 minutes. Fill my Fiestaware Disc pitcher (about 60 oz.) halfway with ice. Add brewed double-strong tea to the pitcher. Stir it a little and enjoy. No additions.
