179 Tasting Notes
Got this from hapatite awhile ago (many thanks, again!) but just got around to drinking it. I would say the vanilla and coconut flavors are very subtle, unless I simply didn’t use enough of the tea or didn’t steep it long enough. All in all, very nice, almost sophisticated, but if you’re in the mood for strong vanilla and tropical flavors, you won’t get a big hit of those flavors from this tea.
Had this at the retail store near my workplace. Iced with nothing added. Nice cherry flavor, a tiny bit of tartness that added a refreshing note, definitely brought back memories of Fla-Vor-Ice cherry. A grown-up way to enjoy the flavor of childhood summertime! Too bad it’s a limited edition.
Flavors: Cherry, Fruity, Tart
This is my second favorite tea to drink iced during the hottest months (Bamboozled is my hands-down, absolute favorite). Clean, refreshing – great coconut flavor with not a lot else going on to detract from it. Nice and light. I’ve yet to try it hot and most likely won’t – really can’t see the point – it’s a great summer iced tea.
Flavors: Coconut, Grass
I got this back in the spring because I love cherry blossoms, I was born in the spring, and after all, even my screen name is “sakura”! That being said, it’s nice, but not mind-blowing. I appreciate the cherry flavor, although there’s not enough of it, but the floral puts me off a bit. Not enough to stop drinking it, I WILL finish what I bought, but most likely won’t get it again. Haven’t tried it iced – only hot – and it’s soothing that way, but based on the general comments, it sounds like a not-so-great idea. I may try it iced once before I finish it.
Flavors: Berry, Cherry, Flowers, Metallic
My favorite tea to drink iced in the hotter months. Heartbroken that David’s Tea is discontinuing it! I wrote to them, posted on their Facebook page, all to no avail. Went to the closest store and bought a bunch of it. So, I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
Flavors: Bamboo, Fruity, Pineapple
A great strawberry black. The leaves are unusual, kind of granular looking. The fruit here has more aroma than juiciness, but it’s still really lovely. With milk, it’s almost like a strawberry Quik flavor – if you like that kind of thing (and I do!).
Flavors: Floral, Strawberry
Preparation
Overall, I really like this tea – it’s a nice, pleasant flavor.
The dry tea leaves smell fruity and minty. The mint really comes out once it’s brewed – that’s the overall taste/scent of this tea. Chocolate is a secondary note, with a little creaminess that makes it seems like a milk chocolate or a white chocolate to me. The coconut was really subtle. Next time I’d like to try it iced.
Flavors: Chocolate, Coconut, Cream, Mint
