431 Tasting Notes
I made this iced and I am still loving this. The creaminess comes out a lot more when iced. It is super hot today and it just hits the spot. The fun part is how one tea can create nearly two different flavor profiles even hot or iced. Kinda like a 2 for 1 special or for those who remember…“Blue Light Special in Aisle 3” LOL :o)
Wow it is my 50th note, I just noticed and how fitting that it be the same tea as my first note.
Preparation
Wow, this stuff is great. I was out yesterday at the NRA show in Chicago helping out at the Adagio booth and took sometime to look around and stopped off at the Numi booth where I tasted this te black and I was blown away at the amount earthy chocolate flavor I got. I took a sample bag home and made it last night with sweetener and milk and it was like a richer slightly cinnamon and hot chocolate. Delicious, I will have to buy some for myself.
On another note. The show was a lot of fun and everyone at Adagio was so very welcoming and kind. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help out.
Preparation
This one was confusing to me. Let me start by saying I am not a big fruit tea fan and I am especially not a fan of melon. However, just because I don’t like something as a food doesn’t mean I won’t like it as a tea so I gave it a shot. This is part of my sampler set I received. So upon opening the package the smell is intense and it smells a bit like alcohol. Weird but I went ahead and brewed and it still had a very strong aroma or melon and a tiny lingering smell of alcohol. I had my first taste after letting the tea cool a bit and noticed the alcohol smell wasn’t there and it didn’t taste like it either. However, it was ok in flavor but still better than expected considering my prior disposition. Next, I decided to let the tea cool a bit more and to see if there was a difference and there truly was a difference. It becomes natually sweeter and more like real melon; which for someone who likes melon would love. So great for the tea but just ok for me. I will say this tea probably would be great iced on a hot day with or without sweetener.
Preparation
Having this tea tonight before bed. Decided to try it black this time and still very delicious. The spices shine through very well. The tea itself is beautiful to look at in the tin. The tea is generously complemented with large whole pieces of cardamom, cloves, and so much more. It is very aromatic and fun to drink.
Preparation
WOW talk about chocolate! The aroma as soon as you open the tin is intense and amazingly it is not at all lost in translation after it has been steeped. Visually the dry tea is gorgeous to look at. The chocolate nibs are huge and the pieces of apples are so cute. Everytime the wind blows it carries the chocolate smell all over. With the said the taste is wonderful. I don’t really taste the fruit and I am sure that is supposed to be that way. Although, the chocolate is intense the mint is barely noticeable. There needs to be a little more balance there since it is supposed to be “Mint Chocolate” otherwise great, especially since I am not a huge chocolate in my tea fan. Just did a last minute addition of sugar and now it tastes more like ice cream. Yum!
Preparation
First the leaves are very nice to look at. Now, the tea is very good as well. I found it bright and lively. Probably wonderful with a pastry. It is a touch smokey but not a lot I may try this with some milk and sugar and get back to you all.
Preparation
Yummy! If you like bold then you have come to the right place. This tea is very robust and as a past post said it has a malty flavor and a sweetness. I found this to be coffee-like. Meaning you take this tea down in large gulps without even realizing it and it is bold a wake up if you will. Then once you swallow and savor that sip a wonderful sweetness comes out and gives you that “ahhhh” feeling as you slink into your chair a little further and relax your shoulders and think for a minute “this is good” and then before you know it times speeds up again you gotta get back to reality. I know it is strange but that is what I got and I hope I made sense. Basically: Good!
Preparation
I am a bit surprised with this tea. I am very happy that the lemon does not taste artificial or overwhelming. That is where the surprise is. The actual tea is nothing spectacular but nevertheless this is a nice tea and will do in a pinch. I will continue to drink and perhaps try it iced as well.
