Yum!

Puerh, citrus peels, cinnamon. Steep it grandpa style, never ending in a cup. Even though the peels tend to float a little. Just blow them aside and take a sip. :)

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML
Plunkybug

Grandpa style?

OMGsrsly

Tea leaves in cup, refill all day as you get down to about half full.

Plunkybug

Ah, I see…never heard that before.

I made cookies WOO!!!!
http://www.justonecookbook.com/recipes/green-tea-white-chocolate-cookies/

Only sad thing? They are SO FREAKING SWEET, what with the icing sugar and the white chocolate. :/ Delicious, but way too sweet for me. Even with the bitter of the matcha coming through.

Oh well, I’m sure they’ll get eaten anyways!

TheTeaFairy

Oh they look so pretty! I hate when recipes call for so much sugar tho…

OMGsrsly

Part of it would be my fault. I see 1/3-1/2 cup white chocolate, and dump in more than the 1/2 cup recommended… :D I should know to cut the sugar in almost any recipe in half, though. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid!

Lala

I am glad they turned out well! I love the recipes on that site. I will have to try these cookies.

OMGsrsly

They’re better this morning, but that might just be the lack of energy talking. :D Trying to gear up for a hike!

(Edit) Ahem. Star date 20150130, from the USS Enterprise NCC-1701… (Should have had an Earl Grey!!)

Oh, I really really like this and I’m sad it’s pretty much gone. Just one more steep when I get home from work.

The flavours are super delicate and I mostly taste the base tea in my travel mug today. But there are hints of dark chocolate and orange and sweetness and malt.

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 3 min, 0 sec 4 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML
mrmopar

Beam me up Scotty there’s no Earl grey on this planet! Wait Jim didn’t drink tea did he?
;P

OMGsrsly

Haha. Whiskey, sometimes. So maybe he could be brought over to the dark side with some puerh. :)

OMGsrsly

(I was thinking of the NCC-1701D. But of course I missed that in my note edit!)

drank Chaud Les Marrons! by Lupicia

Delicious this morning, with cream, while Sil talked me into ordering from Butiki AND Mandala. Gee Sil. ;)

Roasted nuts and shells, hints of charcoal, sweet candy chestnut, etc. Yum yum yum! I do like this tea. And I’m almost out, which will be sad.

(2.5 tsp in 16 oz)

Sil

yeah…those rubber arms of yours…. all MY fault…

OMGsrsly

:D Oh totally. I mean, it’s not like I’m easy when it comes to group orders or anything.

Ooo…. Very floral and fruity. A little nuts in the background I think, but sweet nuts like frangipane.

Thank you for sharing, Shmiracles!

I do like this one, and the name is SUPER fun. But I think it’s just too sweet-candy-fruity-floral for me to want to keep it around.

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 2 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML
ThainofBuckland

Does it taste similar to marzipan?

ashmanra

Puerh Gourmand is really tasty, too!

OMGsrsly

It doesn’t taste like marzipan to me. It tastes like floral and berries. Maybe a wee hint of candy almond in the background.

ashmanra

Ai don’t get marzipan, either. I do get that biscuit flavor they mention, and it really is BISCUIT. So cool. How do they do it?

What?! I’m the first reviewer?

This is from the lovely MissB who’s on walkabout in Europe.

It smells SO heady and fruity. Kinda like the quince and apple thing I made in the fall, actually. Quince is so delightfully perfumey, and even though this is definitely a sencha base, the perfume overshoots the mineral/seaweed flavours.

Sipping on this hot, it tastes like I remember quince smelling. Floral, apple, something unidentifiable that is quince. I’m quite liking this. Not necessarily enough to keep it all (ha!) but enough to slow down and really appreciate this cup.

http://instagram.com/p/ydRbjOx5Ic/ (I need to charge my Real Camera’s batteries, whoa, that is a blurry cell phone pic!)

Even cooling, as the green base becomes more apparent, I’m still liking this.

Thanks, MissB!

Those leaves are beautiful! And, Quince! #Fancy

Very fancy. :)

The lovely Dexter sent a sample of this along to me!

There were no steeping instructions that I could find, so I searched notes and then decided… f-it. Western it is.

It’s strong. It’s nice. Sweet and smooth. Very carby. IDK that I adore it, or that the flavours are ones I’d crave all the time, but it’s nice. And she thoughtfully included something like 5 other snaily teas for me to try as well. :D

Edit: Oh, as it cools it goes sour. Weird. I’m stuffed up a bit so I can’t smell much, but the taste is definitely sour, not bitter or astringent.

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML
OMGsrsly

I added steeping instructions to Steepster. UGH.

Dexter

Did I not write instructions on the package? If there are company instructions on the original packaging I normally write them – if not then I don’t….. sorry….

OMGsrsly

Maybe? IDK, I just automatically turned to Steepster. Haha. And when I didn’t find the information here, I pouted and said “f- it!”

LOL. Janet’s Special Orange.

Creamy orange julius/creamsicle tea in my mug. I added a lot of cream, and it’s so good. Vanilla, jasmine, orange. :D

Sadly the curry dip I had for my veg has drowned some of my taste buds so I can’t appreciate the tea as much as I usually do.

From Dexter, so I can decide if I want to buy a cake or not. :) Thank you!

I have an online meeting this morning, and a tea setup on my desk. So of course I had to take advantage and try to gongfu a tea while taking minutes. :D

1 quick rinse, because it was pretty compact. Then it rested FOREVER while my fancy kettle boiled.

1 steep, IDK about 5 seconds. Maybe I’ll drink this. Hmm. Oh hey that’s pretty good. I have coffee lingering still, but the tea is pretty sweet. There’s a bit of that musty-fishy smell in this rinse/steep still, but it’s super mild.

2 steep, whoops I got distracted. BLACK TEA. Smells yummy though. Kinda fruity. There’s a bright bitterness at the end of the sip.

3 steep, distracted again. I accidentally mixed 2 and 3 in my milk jug.

4 steep, … I got busy with typing. But I’m drinking all the tea! Yum yum yum.

? ? ? How many steeps did I get? I honestly have no idea. But so far, so good.

(CRACKLES! http://instagram.com/p/yXXRHbR5A9/ )

Edit: I’ve gone through just about 2 litres of water drinking this today, with about 1 cup of waste product… WHOA.

CRACKLES!!!!!! They’re so beautiful. :D

OMGsrsly

So many crackles!!!

Sil

oh shit… i was supposed to try this one…

Do it! Doooooo it! :D

drank With Open Eyes by Butiki Teas

It’s late enough that I don’t want caffeine, so I’m christening my new eensy easy gaiwan with this tea! 1 tsp tea, ~70ml water (ha!), shorter brews.

It’s delicious. Buttery. Light. Delicate. I’m actually getting a lot of the ginger today, which is showing as a warmth on the tongue.

technically this has caffeine…it’s not a herbal :P

OMGsrsly

Geez, I was wondering if you’d get technical on me! My other option was a black. :P

Lindsay

That’s an adorable gaiswan. :)

Lindsay

*gaiwan :p

OMGsrsly

:D I am SO PLEASED with it. And the cup has crackled this morning with a puerh session! EEE!!!

Lindsay

yay! :D
(need pics!)

OMGsrsly

I have one in my new “review”. :D The one that is basically “I got distracted but I like the tea”.
