345 Tasting Notes
Thank you so much MissB! This had been on my wishlist. I love this tea, creamy and nutty green. If I ever become a consistent green tea drinker I would get this again. Since I’ve heard you should drink green tea within 3 months plus my lack of patience on waiting for the water to cool, I don’t think green tea will ever be a staple for me. Maybe if I get a kettle that takes care of the temperature for me.
This was on my wish list at DAVIDsTEA, before joining steepsters but I know it made it there by checking out the notes here. So, when I saw VariaTEA was selling 10g. As soon as the package arrived I opened it up and smelled it. I completely forgot how it even made it to the list, it smells spicy and I can smell the licorice that I’m not a fan of.
A couple of months ago I over steeped this a good 10-15min, prepared for the worst, I took my first sip and was surprised it was somewhat pleasant in a weird way. I was and still am confused on how sweet it was, it reminded me of stevia.
Last night I let my son pick two teas to cold brew for today. I was so happy this was one he chose and dumped the rest I had left in the mason jar. I took a few sips before giving it to him and it was more drinkable for me but still weird for me: sweet mint and pepper. My sons reaction was a loud “OhYum minty!” He had no problem drinking it. I asked if he liked it as he was playing a videogame he said “Yea I like it, what I don’t like.…what I don’t like is..… those penguin things” I was waiting for him to say something bad about the tea.
Thank you VariaTEA I’m happy I got to try this before buying 50g.
The first cup I had was about a month ago when I had been drinking a lot of another apple pie tea that was very syrupy liquid pie filling sweet so this one left me with no opinion. Today I’m enjoying it a lot more and it is comforting tonight. The apple and cinnamon are not as bold but still present and I can still taste the tea. I don’t get apple pie but I would consider buying this sometime.
Thank you EvaGrimm for the sample :)
My first 52teas I received from BrewTEAlly Sweet’s Sale in February. After reading the tasting notes of this I could not wait to try this and burn my mouth. This being the main complaint I figured it would be perfect for me and my husband.
I tried this as soon as I received it, I was so excited to try this until I smelled it the smell reminds me of a spicy cologne my grandfather would wear. I figured maybe that was because it was a “mans…..tea made to appeal to men, but I have not noticed this bothering anyone else. The taste, all I remember all I remember is I felt like I would be sick if I continued to drink it. I can’t get past the smell, just thinking about it makes my stomach churn.
Luckily my husband likes this and it did not go to waste. I’ve made this as a latte with 2t sugar for my husband and I took a few sips before giving it to him. So, I’m glad all the spicy heat was not lost and the milk helped mute the smell for me. Tonight I iced it for him with a little milk and sugar, I forgot to try it again but I’m happy it is gone
