It smells wonderful, my first thought was that I wanted a candle that smells like this before realizing they sell one :) I’m so disappointed in this though, all I get is flavored water not even sure what flavor. I wish I knew what to do with it to make it better, so many people love this tea.
I have a small pumpkin addiction, I bought so much pumpkin spice items last year I was sick of it by the time Thanksgiving came and even Christmas and it lasted throughout the summer. So, I was sure it would not be that bad this season but I was wrong it has come in full force this past weekend. Items we have had so far this year all pumpkin/pumpkin spice: glade, toaster strudel, cookies, candy, muffins, english muffins, cereal bars, Tazo tea, soda, 2 different kinds of yogurt, 5 different beers and I’m sure I forgot something.
Thank you Cameron B. for helping my curiosity on this one.
Oh boy! Do I have problems, when searching for this on steepster I noticed DAVIDsTEA has new pumpkin tea coming soon? Pumpkin cheesecake and Pumpkin patch!
coconut and apple rounded out by sweet vanilla. It gets bitter/astringent very quickly but when I remember to lower temp(very low) all the flavors are balanced and the tea becomes malty and not bitter.
I made fish fingers and custard for dinner last night, I don’t recommend that combo.

Yay, My first taste of Whispering Pines! I was so excited when I found out this would be in the box. It’s such a special tea I would not expect to find it in just an ordinary TTB. I’m very grateful to have a chance to try it. I already planned on getting some the next time I’m allowed to buy more tea (November), this sample just helped make the amount I would buy go up.
Yummy, Yummy, Vanilla bread tea. I read I should try it with shortbread, so I did and although it was delicious I felt like I was wasting the tea and think I will drink and savor each sip on its own for special days in the future.
My son wanted to dip his cookie in his tea but could not because it was in a large mason jar and his tea was almost gone so I let him use my tea, I did not think about how it would ruin my cup and turn it salty with cookie crumbs on the bottom I was just thinking it would be a nice way to share the special tea with him. I will look for the chocolate next time and not let my son stick his cookie in it.
Bonus* I was lazy and left the leaf in the steeper over night and just rinsed it out before adding black tea in the morning. Pleasantly surprised to find leftover vanilla flavor in the first two steeps of morning tea :)

I remember saving a small serving of this to try because I remember someone liking this more than a Verdant one that I don’t even remember the name of anymore. I saved this for months thinking I would hold off until I could write a proper review. Well I still can not but this is a yummy, malty, bready tea, I should purchase some or something like it and have it more often.
Thank you so much keychange for sharing some of this yummy vanilla earl grey! I will get more someday but every time I’ve checked it is out of stock. I normally like to wait until I’ve had it a few times or finished it before writing a note. This one, my last cup I ruined because I used the filter I normally use for my husbands chai so it has an added flavor of gingerbread. I have had better cups of this in the past and will get more in the future and maybe add more to the note.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this, I almost decided not to try it because of the orange and I could not smell the spearmint when it was dry. I cold brewed it and as soon as I added the water I could smell the spearmint. The orange somehow made it brighter without being bitter.
I was really disappointed by this one too. Maybe it’s not as good this year?
Mmm pumpkin season, I need to get a new pumpkin smelling candle for my desk, but I have a hard time replacing my pine needle one. I was really disappointed with this tea last year, it was too cinnamon-y and gave me a belly ache, though I did appreciate the actual bits of squash in the tea.
Maybe, I’m usually disappointed a little in most things pumpkin, I’m just extra disappointed in this. One of the reviewers said they make there own by adding a can of pumpkin on the stove-I think I will look up a recipe.
Thinking back my stomach was oddly upset last night, did not think about the tea being the cause. Amanda ,you do pine needle year round?
I too am often dissapointed by pumpkin things, so often they just taste like spice, I like the idea of using a can of pumpkin…I know there is a crock pot pumpkin chai recipe floating around that I mean to try.
I do have the pine needles year round, it is probably one of my favorite smells because it never feels intrusive, just a wintry background smell. It took me forever to find a candle that smells like pine needles and not pinesol, I refuse to burn it because I don’t want it to go away :P
