462 Tasting Notes
Yum, this is so good my tin is almost gone. My favorite of this box! Tastes like a toasted coconut marshmallow. I know this is tea, and that this is just flavoring, but my brain is fooled enough and it’s delicious. I will need more of this one.
Flavors: Coconut, Creamy, Marshmallow, Toasted, Vanilla
Definitely tastes like coffee puerh with cinnamon, and a little banana sweetness underneath. The banana note lingers after the coffee and puerh earthiness depart. I like it but prefer the pecan pie puerh version to this one. I did sign up for the 4x a year subscription and I am loving the first box. I probably wouldn’t buy these separately, but as a whole, I’ll sure enjoy sipping them down. A nice way to explore what Old Barrel has to offer.
Flavors: Banana, Cinnamon, Coffee, Earthy
I don’t like bergamot, but I thought I’d try this Earl Grey that is one of Happy Lucky’s best selling teas. It smells like rose and tastes like an orange creamsicle with bergamot underneath. I can still detect the bergamot is there, but its very muted. Not a bad cup, and I’ll actually vote for it instead of Waffle Sauce today, but I don’t need this in my cupboard.
Flavors: Bergamot, Orange, Vanilla
I’ll include a cup when I send you that book that I’m supposed to be reading, but I keep getting ebooks I’ve placed on hold to read!
I have picked up the sniffles somewhere along my travels and can’t taste very well at present. So I opened this new tin (have I finished the first tin?) and am enjoying this nutty sweet puerh concoction this morning. Will it clear out my sinuses? Maybe not, but I can taste it. Pretty yummy stuff.
Flavors: Caramel, Earthy, Nutmeg, Nutty, Sweet
Teas you can taste when you’re sick are nice, especially if they’re too strong for you normally. I have some old Assams and Ceylons that are basically “sick teas.” I hope you feel better soon!
While this tea brews up nice and strong to open your eyes in the morning, it doesn’t have enough Assam for my liking. It’s astringent and malty and robust, but I think I like Happy Lucky’s English Breakfast more with its keemun chocolatey notes. I kinda wish I had a bit more of this blend, but not enough to place an order :)
Flavors: Astringent, Malty
I’m not a fan of white tea in general, but I like this one. Dunno if I can actually taste the pear or ginger, but its a general berry flavor with a floral aftertaste on the first steep only. I might try this as a cold brew.
Flavors: Berry, Floral, Sweet
Michelle – A friend (Sandy here on Steepster) has just moved to Colorado and plans to go to Happy Lucky Tea House sometime. I know Bonnie used to go a lot. Have you ever been in person or do you just order from them?
I have been in person, they are good people, but tell her to go when it’s not so crowded for better service. It’s one of my favorite tea houses :)
More lime than hibiscus, but its smooth and has a nice caffeine kick. Nice to try, and have on hand for a sleepiness emergency.
Flavors: Lime
