1324 Tasting Notes
This was supposed to be a quickly brewed cup of tea to drink while I worked on school stuff. Quick it was not… After taking only a few sips of it I then proceeded to dump the rest of the cup all over myself, furry blanket, and heated blanket. Luckily none of it ended up on my laptop though. What a week but this one is one dumped cup closer to a sip down before the end of the year!
Flavors: Clove, Spices
Drank a lovely mug of this one today while working on a grueling assignment. One of my professors decided to assign our class an extra final. I wanted something tasty that I had already written tasting notes on. I love the subtle honeyed fruit notes in this one. The base tea isn’t bitter or astringent. Nor does it distract from the honey and indiscernible fruit notes.

I’ve been craving earl grey a lot recently and so this was a lovely surprise! The first few sips of this one were amazing! Sweet, citrusy, marshmallow earl grey yumminess. After those first few sips though something weird happened. The bergamot started to taste a bit soapy and the base tea which was disappointing. This had to have been my fault maybe I need to use a little less leaf next time? I have enough for one more cup though luckily. Also drank this cup plain without milk for anyone wondering. I liked those first few sips enough that I’d buy some of it.

I tried this one three ways and this is my first tea from Cuppa Geek who I’ve been meaning to order from eventually. So that’s exciting!
1) First I tried a hot cup plain and found the spices to be a bit overpowering probably clove specifically. The base tea was a bit bitter as well. I want to say that this reminds me of….. I think it was a pumpkin chai from the spice and tea exchange? I’m not certain though if that is the one it’s reminding me of or not.
It was also quite creamy though which fit’s with the latte part of the name.
2) The cup with milk was better but still not quite what I was hoping for.
3) I think the cold steeped tea in milk turned out the best. Unfortunately, that usually requires quite a bit of tea leaf usually so this one probably isn’t a repurchase for me. It was fun to try though! As far as pumpkin chai goes I think my favorite is still the DavidsTea one.
(AJRimmer left the cutest little notes for me on each advent tea. So this is me responding to her note. I agree pumpkin season should be all year! Also, I really liked the DT Pumpkin Earl Grey hopefully you do too.)

Cuppa Geek has quickly become one of my favorite companies, so I was glad I still had a few of her teas left in my stash so I could share! I think I only have one left now. I hope she comes back from hiatus soon!
Homemade Advent Day 2
From AJRimmer
I know it’s a late tasting note but yesterday was a pretty busy day.
This one’s nice and refreshing and reminds me a bit of Cold 911 and AU’s Tropic Of Capricorn tea. I like how this one is simpler flavorwise. It’s minty but not too minty that the eucalyptus is lost. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by a eucalyptus tea that I’ve tried. The dates in this tea definitely add some sweetness and the aloe adds some cooling notes. I initially steeped this cup at 175F and then was able to resteep it at 200F.
Flavors: Eucalyptus, Peppermint

I was craving a cup of just classic earl grey but sadly couldn’t find any. So I saw this and figured I’d try and get a few more teas finished off before the new year.
While this was steeping it smelled just like a Thai tea bag. You know those kits that have the tea and then often comes with a condensed milk packet. This smells like the tea before the condensed milk is added. I used to actually make just the tea and drink it… This was a weird association but I’m still getting it to a lesser extent in the steeped tea. A strange yet pleasant tasting cuppa overall.

Advent Day 1
Advent Days are so much fun that I almost want a relative to create one for me with my tea every month.
I made sure to read a few notes about this one before steeping it. I’m glad I did because Ceylon requires a shorter brew. The base is nice and malty but a bit tannic and the banana flavor is nice and sweet. I do wish the banana was a bit stronger but it’s a nice tea. I have a little bit left and will probably do a comparison with the Curtis Banana Flambe tea. This cup was a nice cross between a breakfast tea and a dessert blend.
*Note to self (try next cup of this tea with milk)
Flavors: Malt, Smooth, Sweet, Tannic, Wood

I’m the same way – I have so much tea, that I want my roommate to make a calendar with tea in it for me to open every morning as a surprise! I love December, so I have someone to do this for me!!!
Nothing’s really yours until it has tea stains on it ;) Thanks for reminding me I have a few bags of this that need attention!
I make a strong syrup with this tea and add it to cold Perrier for homemade “root beer.”
How do you think of all this creative beverage alchemy?
It was during my “what will good a good soda replacement?” phase!
Oooh that sounds good!
