52 Teas 12 Teas of Christmas Advent: Day 7
Made a cup of this for my grandmother in the morning and had a few sips of hers before re-steeping the leaves to make myself a cup. I liked this one but she didn’t care for the blackberry flavor. I think it was a bit too candy-like for her. I didn’t really get custard vibes from this one more just candy berry ones. It’s closer to a cotton candy profile than a custard one. The green base was smooth and not very grassy so it worked well with the blackberry. More in-depth review of this one will come later after the holidays.
Flavors: Berry, Candy

I need to try this one again but I remember getting at least two nice steeps out of it. The oolong base was pleasant but I don’t remember tasting cranberry at all. I remember finding it nice but missing that cranberry flavor. Definitely need to re-try this and review it again after the holidays.
Made an eggnog latte with this one and I liked it better than I usually do. I didn’t overleaf it too much though because with advent teas I didn’t want to overdo it on caffeine today. The eggnog improves the tea by adding some creaminess and making it more of a rich cup of tea. I’ll probably do this again at some point with more tea leaf. Also I’m tempted to cold brew this at some point even though I don’t foresee that turning out great.
Cup from last night was just as delicious as the first cup I tried of this tea. The mango is SO good in this one juicy and fresh not exactly floral either like fresh mango often is. The lemongrass blends with the mango and the citrus is just as bright and lovely as the mango is. The mint is slightly cooling and reminds you that it’s an herbal tea.
Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Lemongrass, Mango, Mint

This one is a fun blend since it’s a Portland aka rose city inspired blend which is my hometown. The cardamom, clove, and other spices are really nice here against the smooth malty base. The rose pairs nicely with the vanilla making it sweet and lovely without any additions including milk. It’s so creamy, sweet, and balanced that it doesn’t even need milk or honey. A chai without milk is a chai for me! I would purchase this one for sure and could see myself drinking it often.
This is a delicious traditional chai with the addition of some floral notes from the rose.
I was able to get a second steep out of this that was just as delicious!

I’ve been writing tasting notes on my phone and haven’t been great about remembering to post them on the same day.
Anyway, this tea had been on my wishlist so yay! for being able to try it and tick another tea off of it. The pineapple is fresh and bright here and the ginger creates the slightest warming sensation on the tongue. The oolong base adds some floral notes and is quite smooth. This is the best pineapple tea I’ve ever had and what I was looking for in all of the other pineapple teas that I’ve tried. I was able to get three steeps out of this and would purchase more of this if it was available when I was ordering. The third steep was more oolong heavy in terms of flavor. *Note to self try more pineapple teas from 52 Teas.

Drank a cup of this one late last night. I loved his character on Fringe so it was exciting to see an inspired blend. The strawberry in this one is pleasant and tastes quite natural. After adding a touch of milk and a tiny bit of agave it’s a lot closer to a milkshake. It reminds me more of a creamy fresh strawberry milkshake which is a nice change! Looking at some of the reviews today perhaps I should have waited for it too cool more before deciding to add some milk.
