1324 Tasting Notes
This was a free sample that was sent to me by the company.
I prepared this using a bamboo matcha whisk but forgot to sift the matcha before adding it to the bowl. The matcha was still easy to whisk and my cup was clump free. The matcha didn’t froth up at all with this prep method. The aftertaste was a tad chalky. Some matches I enjoy drinking without milk but this particular one was a bit too strong for me just on it’s own. I enjoyed it with the almond milk and still have another sample packet to prepare a different way and try.
Preparation
Prepared this one as a latte with almond milk and it’s really good! I’m glad I picked up another bag of this one awhile back. It’s earthy and rich and chocolatey. It’s also a little fruity from the carob underneath all of the creamy chocolate and cocoa flavors. Chocolate teas usually don’t work for me but this one does. I’ve always been a fan of chicory, carob, and mushrooms though. It makes a delicious dessert-y latte.
I like this one a lot more than DT’s Cocoa Canela tea. Beware when you open a bag of this though because there is a ton of cocoa dust.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Creamy, Earthy, Mushrooms
Reminded me of another tea I think it reminded me of Jumpy Monkey. It had a really nice roasted and nutty taste. If I ever order from Adagio I’d probably add some of this to my cart. I was able to get two good steeps out of the sample packet of this tea I had.
