1324 Tasting Notes
This tea bag was from a family member’s work. She found it stuffed at the bottom of the wrong tea box. So it’s quite possibly pretty old.
Tasting Notes: The cocoa shells come through along with some notes of campfire smoke and wood. The monk fruit adds some sweetness that perhaps for some might remind someone of a dessert. Although I don’t get dessert from this cup just sweetness and roasted earthy and smoky flavors. It is a pretty interesting tea just not what you would expect. The chocolate notes with the sweetness and complexity of the other notes I would say that this could be considered a dessert tea for some but it would be a chocolate perhaps with some salt.
I would drink this myself occasionally but it’s not a tea I need to have in my cupboard per say. This tea is quite tricky to describe so it’s best to try it on your own and form your own opinion of it.
Flavors: Char, Chocolate, Cocoa, Earth, Roasted, Salt, Smoke, Sweet, Wood
Preparation
It appears that I forgot to review this tea I don’t remember it that well.
The flavor was very light but pleasant. The main flavor note was sweet licorice. It wasn’t a fruity tea like the name would imply. I would have rated it higher but considering the name it’s not what you’d expect it to taste like. As well as the fact that I would picture most people purchasing this tea for when they are sick. Someone with a cold would not be able to taste this at all. Throat Care tea is cheaper to buy, tastes very similar and doesn’t give you a false impression of what it will taste like.
Flavors: Licorice, Sweet
Preparation
Finished the 2 liters of this pretty much all by myself. The flavor was pretty bland after being in the fridge overnight. You can’t seem to win either way, room temperature it’s way too perfume-y and cold it is bland.
I drank this up by mixing each cup with 50 percent flavored carbonated peach water. This made it drinkable.
Made this as the instruction say to like an iced tea.
I’m drinking a cup of this while it’s still slightly above room temperature instead of cold.(refrigerated) so I won’t rate this cup. This tastes just like the Spice and Tea Exchange Blueberry black tea. It’s similar to some earl grey but much more perfume-y. I’d imagine this could get quite soapy tasting if over steeped. The perfume aftertaste lingers for a long time.
Even though I’ve never had an herbal blueberry tea I think I would much prefer the fresh taste to the perfume-y one from this blend. I will have to ask my family to help drink the 2 liters I have of this in the fridge. Although I imagine they won’t enjoy this tea either.
Flavors: Perfume
Preparation
Used 2 perfect spoonfuls(Teavana brand) in a 10-12 oz cup.
I love the uniqueness of this tea but it doesn’t meet my expectations. I can’t explain it but it leaves me feeling like I just drank some unique spiced water. The flavor do blend together beautifully it just screams flavored water to me and not tea. I love how soothing it is to drink. Maybe white teas just aren’t for me?
Flavors: Cinnamon, Ginger, Pear, Spices
Preparation
A family member brought me home some tea bags and sachets that her coworkers had brought to work. One tea bag of this tea was included. My expectations were not high at all considering that this is a rooibos tea. My last rooibos tea was a loose leaf vanilla rooibos from Trader Joes and tasted horrible.
I prepared this unsweetened with about 2 TSPs of milk
Taste wise: This tea is excellent! I can taste notes of the vanilla bean, it’s a very light feeling tea but rich at the same time. The cacao notes come into play making each sip rich yet light at the same time. I was extremely impressed. It has a velvety feel to it throughout each sip.
After trying it I looked at the ingredients and saw that it has honeybush and rooibos in it. I’d never had a honey bush tea only rooibos ones.
My rating system is pretty messed up in terms of how other people rate teas I would say that using their scale it would closer to a 85.
Don’t expect a heavy chocolate flavor because again it is a very light tea that has some richness. This isn’t a tea that would make a good latte.
The flavor overall is too light and it would be easy to add to much milk to.
Very easy to accidentally cover up the flavor. You definitely wouldn’t be able to taste it when you have a cold.
Flavors: Cacao, Cocoa, Smooth, Vanilla
Preparation
Method: 8 oz boiling water steeped for at least 30 minutes.(I recommend 15+)
I was unsure about this tea as I abhor lemongrass. I really enjoyed it though. I believe it is because of the licorice root and the fact that the lemon grass isn’t overpowering.
Flavors: Sweetness from the licorice, fresh lemon towards the end of the sip.
Green tea and Matcha are nowhere to be found. Tastes like a herbal tea, is very similar to Traditional Medicinal’s Throat Coat tea taste wise.
Flavors: Lemon, Lemongrass, Licorice, Sweet
Preparation
This tea was a gift from a family member’s trip to Europe. All of the other teas were herbal blends that were brought back. I have a pretty big bag of this along with the big bags of the herbals. The package is called “Lakrits” and says it’s made in Stockholm,Sweden. My family wasn’t sure if this was tea or potpourri when they bought it but it’s tea.
Flavor wise this tea reminds me more of anise than licorice although I’m only basing this off of herbal licorice teas consisting of licorice root. I’ve never had a black tea with licorice before. My guess is that the black tea base is an assam because of the taste and slightly malty flavor. It’s far from a favorite tea but is not a bad tea. It’s just not a flavor of black tea that I’d choose.
Flavors: Anise, Licorice
Preparation
I love licorice root, I think you are right, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it blended with black tea before (I have it in some pu-erh blends, but that’s the closest I’ve seen). Is the licorice root able to sweeten up the astringencies of the Assam base, or because black tea is so strong are they naturally conflicting flavors?
It seems to sweeten up the assam just in the slightest/keeping away bitterness. I would have preferred an anise herbal myself because the flavors are so distinct. I do see some people out there who would really enjoy this though. Probably someone who loves all types of anise candy/ licorice. I’m specifically thinking of those old fashioned anise candies.
So I accidentally ordered the large bag of this instead of the sample size. This is also the first tea from this company that I have tried.
Last time it Turned out a bit watery and the flavors were weak but pleasant.
This time I brewed it for 5 minutes at 210 F as recommended and used somewhere between 3.25-3.5 teaspoons of leaf.
It didn’t taste right, due to my error of brewing. This also is the first white tea I’ve ever had before so brewing it and tasting is still very new. The flavor notes of this were very different after over leafing it this time around.
Flavors: Citrus, Clove, Spices
