an awesome tea.

little glass pitcher method (grandpa style)

when I smell the leaves dry, they smell like sweet-grass.

when I smell the leaves wet, they smell more intense.

when I smell the brewed tea, it smells sweet like sweet grass.

when I taste the brewed tea, it tastes like sweet-grass

a note: you must use proper water temperature for this tea (most dragonwells don’t need it) or it will get bitter fast thus why I’m scoring a 95.

many thanks to angel tevivre for this amazing tea sample

Love the consistency of your reviews Kirk! Have you thought about adding a comment about why you rate a tea at a certain level? (ex. if you like smoother teas, or it has more/less flavour?)

That’s a great idea. I’ll try that next time :D

an awesome tea

little glass pitcher, grandpa style:

when I smell the stems dry, they smell nice and sweet and similar to asparagus.

when I smell the stems wet, the smell is intensified.

when I smell the brewed tea, it smells sweet and like asparagus.

when taste the brewed tea, it tastes very sweet and like asparagus.

NOTE: the following comment does not affect the score

only if this tea tasted more asparagusy

also it was hard to strain the stems in the little strainer while pouring the tea into the cups so it managed to get a little bitter on me

many thanks to paola for this amazing tea

so i picked some of this tea from my backyard.

doesn’t smell or taste like much even though the leaves were already dry. but had a extremely minor peppermint taste, but seemed the taste is similar to sheng puehr steeped for 3-5 seconds

in the end its an ok tea, but i probably wont pick again unless i run out of tea

NOTE: steeped for 10 seconds as my native friend said to steep it very short

many thanks to Johnny for telling me of this tea. he knows a lot about native plants and native medicine :D

an awesome tea!

when i smell the tuo dry, it smells sweet and green.

when i smell the leaves wet, they smell sweet, green and spicy.

when i smell the brewed tea, it smells sweet and spicy.

when i taste the brewed tea, it tastes sweet and slightly spicy

this tea did not need to rinse long and maybe not at all as i did not get the top quarter rinsed well with water but it still tasted awesome! :D

however i have one minor problem, i wish this tea tasted more spicy instead of slightly spicy. (this in no way affects the score) :)

i like to put bits of un-wetted tea of this kind in the cup after steeping so i can eat the leaves
