673 Tasting Notes
Revisiting the 2006 nan jian Phoenix ripe puerh mini brick.
It’s been a few years since I’ve first reviewed it. So wats revisit this tea.
Gongfucha, gaiwan.
Dry leaf: sweet, musty.

1x medium rinse.
Light steep; I smell/taste:
(Smell) slight autumn leaves.
(Taste) slight —> salty, camphor(?). light —> clay, autumn leaf, sweet
Medium steep; I smell/taste:
(Smell) light —> camphor, autumn leaf, sweet.
(Taste) slight salty. Medium —> autumn leaf, camphor, sweet.

Heavy steep; I smell/taste:
(Smell) light —> musty, autumn leaf, sweet
(Taste) medium salty. Medium to strong camphor, autumn leaf, sweet.
All in all. Still a delicious tea.
As for salty taste I think it is just the camphor. Or could be just me or the way I store it. So I don’t blame the tea. Still I’d give it a go. (Rating stays the same)

I don’t know weither I have another cold. Just got over one a week or two ago. Or if I have pneumonia. But I think the tea will help and I will try to review a tea.

All in all, a delicious tea! I rate a 99/100.

Menku “yue guang bai” white tea roasted in aromatic bamboo. Bought from yunnan sourcing.
Dry leaf: musty, sweet.
Wet leaf: floral, sweet, roses, Cookies, cookie dough.
Light steep; I smell/taste:
(Smell) light musty?
(Taste) light —→ floral, sweet, ground pepper, seaweed, Metallic (iron).
Medium steep; I smell/taste:
(Smell) light —→ cookies, metallic (copper/iron).
(Taste) light to medium —→ floral, nutty, roses, seaweed, pepper, metallic (copper/iron).
Heavy steep; I smell/taste:
(Smell) little to nothing.
(Taste) light —→ roses, metallic (iron/copper), floral, pepper.
All in all, an amazing tea! Enjoyable all around. I rate 100/100. The best white tea I’ve ever had.

Hi! Guess what day it is?? It’s my birthday. I’m 30 today. Lol I feel old.
My sazen order has arrived! A lovely mix of grassy and cocoa. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Lovely umami and aroma. A lovely tea all around. I suggest at the very least you give this tea a try. I rate a 95/100

All in all a wonderful tea nice cha qi, tastes and aroma. Good for beginners although I was expecting more. So I rate a 99/100.
Good price for 2 × 250g tuo’s. I suggest you give it a go.

Preparation
I’ve tried Ippodo’s Top tier matcha. (not in the traditional way though) it was lovely! nice amount of sweetness/bitterness. nice amount of Umami and grassy taste.
i should buy more to try the traditional way and koicha way.
until then i will not rate this tea :)
