270 Tasting Notes
I came home today to find both my Della Terra Teas and my The Persimmon Tree sample orders in my mailbox. Perfect timing on their part. Today begins my spring break. I plan to try all of my teas!
I ended up closing my eyes in order to pick which to try first! The cup was drinkable but I decided to add Splenda. I have never added anything to my loose leaf as of yet. This greatly improved the taste, to me. I am on my second steep of these leaves. I believe that as I begin to sample more teas I may have to revamp my rating scale.
Preparation
Thanks again to MissB for this one. This was a nice introduction to black tea. I didn’t really get any fruit flavor. Maybe I am just tasting the black tea in this steep? Then again, I do not necessarily know what black tea tastes like. I was looking forward to more fruit from this tea but it is enjoyable. Especially after less than normal sleep.
Preparation
Another from MissB’s package. I get a taste of the menthol at the end of the sip. This feels a little bland. This may be due to eating popcorn shortly before drinking this. I am thrilled to try another chamomile based tea, as i have yet to pick a favorite. This one will be getting another try. I don’t want to do it injustice by having salty snacks beforehand.
Preparation
My second tasting of the samples from MissB. I have recently discovered rooibos and have decided that I enjoy it. This was a wonderful tea for tonight, almost earthy. I have been happy to find that there are so many different teas to drink that are not caffeinated. I feel that I will be utilizing both caffeinated and un-caffeinated regularly.
Preparation
Ohemgee MissB! Your mystery package arrived today! I am so terribly excited. Thank you for so many new teas to try! I have decided to start with this one as it is an herbal blend and it’s after work :)
I think I like the smell of this more than the tea itself. The tea is also quite pleasant. Quite citrus-y, a good kick in the behind to jump start studying tonight. Thank you MissB. A wonderful start to the batch you sent my way.
Preparation
Uh oh, was it really only a 51? I’m glad you enjoyed it regardless! This is one of my favorite teas.
I will be giving it another chance, all the reviews on it are so high! I must have done something wrong.
I went on a tea adventure yesterday and this is one of the spoils. i knew I enjoyed my flavored green tea but I wanted to know if I liked green tea in general. I also wanted a plain green tea to use with my peppermint. I have my answer. This tea is nice and mild with not a lot going on. Perfect for studying in the mornings before I am fully awake. I am steeping the leaves a second time. I am going to ice that one. I think this tea iced would taste close to Lipton’s green tea!
Preparation
While sitting down to study, I felt that tea would be an excellent motivator. It is 75+ degrees outside so I decided to experiment with the “double brew and pour over ice” method. It smells stronger, likely because of the extra leaves I put in. It is a very pleasing aroma. It is also a very pretty dark pink color. I do not care for it this way. I possibly did this technique incorrectly and will not completely write off cold brewing (especially since this northern girl doesn’t too well in the Missouri heat) but I think I will keep drinking this tea hot.
