75 Tasting Notes
This is a delicious black tea with prominent notes of vanilla and currant. It has a slightly floral aroma. I had to pick something up in Tacoma today so decided to stop in The Mad Hat tea shop. I purchased 2 cups and picked up a few teas to try later but of the two that I tried, this was my favorite.
It’s been a while since I made a tasting note and I blame it on piling up coursework. Thank you to Courtney for pulling me away from the hum-drum by sending me a sample of this! This smells and tastes a lot like root beer. Although, it has a dark (slightly smokey) black tea base flavor that reminds me it’s tea. I think I’d like this better chilled but it could be because I feel odd drinking hot root beer… I’m going to add a little sugar, put this in the fridge, and use this free time as an excuse to sample some others. :)
Sadly drinking the last bit of my Santa’s Secret. The peppermint candy cane flavor is so satisfying. I just wish this was a permanent part of their collection, instead of seasonal, so I could buy it anytime!
I also had this problem with this one. I found Della Terra’s many chocolate mint teas helped tide me over. Swiss Mountain was good, but even better was Shamrocks & Shenanigans/Minty Cow.
I’m tempted to look for this one next Christmas .. Love minty chocolate teas. Glad to see your tastin note on it.
Birthday Cupcake is another tea that’s true to it’s name. Fresh steeped, it tastes like vanilla cake but after adding a little sugar, it tastes like vanilla cake with frosting! I should note that this reminds me of store bought cupcakes and has the same slight bitterness that their icing has (which makes the flavors much more realistic). I imagine that adding cream would really bring out the frosting flavors and turn this into a liquid dessert. Being a sweet-tooth, I’m a big fan of this one!
Another tea by Della Terra to add to the “keep stocked” pile.
Preparation
This tea has a very subtle green tea taste and prominent fresh apple flavor. It’s a nice change from the apple teas that always seem to have spices or other fruit mixed in but only hints of apple.

A big thank you to VarieTEA for catching my mistake! I rated “love tea” and completely overlooked the #7. I wish I could blame sleep deprivation but I actually got 8 hours of sleep last night. So, without further ado, I shall use the magic of copy, paste, and delete to fix this mishap.
This smells like a dark chocolate covered strawberry. Without sugar, I mostly just taste chocolate but add a little sugar and you’re left with the aftertaste of just eating chocolate covered strawberries.
Flavors: Berries, Chocolate

Haha. I can’t really take the credit. I only asked because I was confused. I thought their might have been Love Teas 1-7 that I just never knew about :P
When I first joined, a few tea ratings confused me because of identically named companies except one would have TEA after the name (Della Terra vs. Della Terra Teas). VarieTEA, you helped me not perpetuate the confusion! ;-)
I keep saying this but DavidsTea should REALLY consider opening a store in Seattle! Another sample from the wonderful miss Courtney~ It’s so good! I wasn’t really expecting to like it as much as I do but the lime and cream flavors pair up perfectly. I’ve already made two cups of this and am contemplating making another…

I would love to see them come to Indiana :) It’s such a beautiful place and all.. Lol. I would imagine you will get one nearer you before I can dream of one closer to me.
I can only hope. Thank you so much Courtney! Suziqzer I dream of a better world where every city has a DavidsTEA and where “chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.” :P
I finally get to compare the Lime Chiffon to the Lemon Chiffon! -Thank you Courtney!
I’m a big fan of the Lemon Chiffon so have been really curious to compare the two. Like the Lemon Chiffon, this has a very sweet aroma that fills the room and the smell of each is almost indiscernible. Unlike the Lemon Chiffon, the citrus flavor of the lime really stands out and the acidity cuts back on the natural sweetness. Even though this doesn’t taste as sweet, it’s still a delicious fruity tea.
Preparation
1:30 a.m. And… I’m drinking Earl Grey! It’s decafe right? I was craving it after baking Earl Grey cookies and the smell permeated my kitchen to living room area. This is a nice but subtle Earl Grey. It’s not nearly as strong as I like but it’s not bad. I ended up using 2.5 tsp for an 9oz cup and it turned out pretty tasty.
I’m loving the fruity and floral smell. It’s almost like sniffing a fresh bouquet of flowers. I didn’t even add sugar to this /gasp and it’s still yummy. The orange peels add a tinge of citrus notes but do it without adding any extra astringency. This is a pleasant, smooth, floral, and slightly fruity green tea.
Thank you for another yummy sample moraiwe
