558 Tasting Notes
I think this is the tea I received from AmazonV in a recent swap. It was labeled Holiday Spice, but the picture looks like what is inside the bag.
I found this tea rather weak with one sachet/8oz water steeped it for four minutes, it had a mild cinnamon and clove flavor, but not much black tea flavor.
I doubled it to 2 sachets for 8oz water and steeped for five minutes. I think I shouldn’t have steeped it for an extra minute, it brought out a bit of bitterness and there are some smoky notes to it I never would have imagined after the first brew. The cinnamon and clove are certainly more apparent, the scent of almond is hanging around the tea. The hint of smoke is intriguing.
I love the murky green color this is when brewed. Almost a neon happy smily face. This tasted delightful with my leftover orange chicken with rice. There was so much ginger flavor in my orange chicken I needed the citrus of this tea to calm it down. Much enjoyed.
This tin is nearly half full…(half-empty). I must order more soon. Enjoying with a few pieces of rock sugar and a splash of milk. Tastes much better with half and half, but didn’t want to run to the store in the snow just for the half and half. Ahh…I love this tea. Bumped it up several notches in rating, because I have no clue why I rated it so low!
Ahhh…
Boy does it feel good to relax with a cuppa tea. This is one tasty evening treat. I am happy to have an enjoyable decaf black tea in my cupboard, especially one that smells like vanilla cupcakes. Yum.

Glad to have this earl back in my life. The only earl I have ever craved. I could be very happy if this were the only tea in my cupboard. So very happy to have this back in my cupboard.
Wow! High praise indeed to say you could be happy if this were the only tea in your cupboard. It must be magnificent!
Ha ha I still can not get past my Hot Cinnamon spice craving, I have been having some everyday… I will soon need to reorder!
Ever since Ricky(I think it was Ricky) sent me a sample of this in a swap back when I started on steepster I have been hooked. I CRAVE this tea. I drink other Earls, but this is the perfect, non floral, non cream earl. Surprisingly I haven’t sickened of it, although I am only on my second 50g bag of it. With cream or without it is my tea.
Received a few teabags of this from a swap with French Vanilla. I love the aroma the dry leaf produces (dry bag of leaves produces). It is grape-y, sweet and full of black tea scent.
This tastes like a lighter less astringent black tea sweetened with sweet red grapes and cheap sweet wine. I suppose it doesn’t have to be cheap wine, but it reminds me of the boones farm wine and tea. I wonder if this would make a good tea cocktail if one would use a tea concentrate with vodka or rum. Hmmm…I think I best stick to a satisfying tea. I’m glad I have the opportunity to try this tea.
average wt. of a Harney and Sons tea bag…1.5-2g…normal ‘cupping’ standard on 6-8oz water is 3g…most people use 12-16oz coffee cups/mugs…in other words…way too little tea for standard use….your doubling up was about right :)
