558 Tasting Notes
I was a bit leery of this blend as it contained lapsang tea, which always throws me with its smoky scent and flavor, but in this blend,it really makes a difference.
The tea smells incredibly smoky and sweetly creamy upon brewing. I was a little hesitant to take a sip as the smoke was in the lead for the aroma. There is a bit of smoky flavor in the taste, but the vanilla and cream really tone it down and make it very enjoyable. I can almost taste that golden brown marshmallow (I learned how to be patient with my marsmallows so they wouldn’t end up charred around the time I graduated college). This is a delicous tea and I would recommend to anyone who is a bit hesitant to try smoky teas. This would be a great introductory tea to enjoy.
Thanks KeenTeaTime for the sample!
Preparation
This was a refreshing iced tea to have post workout this morning. I love the tropical flavors in this blend. And surprisingly, I can still taste the green tea base throughout the sip. Yum. My husband is in love with this tea as well. I will have to keep this one on hand for him. At least until Blackberry Mojito comes back into stock.
This is quite the tropical treat for tonights wet, cloudy evening. I tried this sans additives for the first brewing. I really enjoy it. It is green tea on the forefront, with a papaya twist to the end. A nice sweet ending to an usweetened cup. Quite the tropical flavor. This would be amazing iced. Off to see how the second steep handles and make up a pitcher of iced for tomorrow.
Preparation
Drank this with some added Tarocco Ruby Orange. This is so naturally sweet and tart. I bought these teas mainly for my husband as he is addicted to these fruit teas. I love how tart and apple flavored this mixture is. I can taste the lemon prominently and I think the tartness is from the pomegranate.
Enjoying this tea. It smells like gingerale, with out the effervescence. I like the bergamot in this with the warm ginger. I used 1 tablespoon with 12oz of water. I really enjoy brewing white tea with this much leaf. I can’t wait to try the second steep iced with a bit of sweetner.
After drinking my cup of Raspberry Lychee tea at Pickwick, I chose a pot of this Grand Earl Grey to have with our meal. They had a delicious array of sandwiches, and the girls and I decided to split three sandwiches three ways. My favorite was a Turkey and Provolone on Marbled Rye with Raspberry Honey Mustard. Wow was it a great sandwich.
The grand earl grey was a nice pot to sip on while enjoying our meal. It had quite a smoky aftertaste, which was not something I expected. I haven’t had a smoky earl before.
We ordered chocolate cherry scones for dessert, served with raspberry jam and clotted cream. OMG….this was the perfect tea with such a sweet dessert. I love how Earl seems to go with just about everything. I may have to pick up some of this, it is so different from other teas I have in my cupboard!
Two co workers and I decided to go out for afternoon tea today at the Pickwick Society tearoom after work today. We started by each choosing a dainty cup (china tea cup) of tea we wanted to enjoy. They the full line of Octavia teas. After smelling several samples, I decided on this tea. I love the ripe, tart berry and sweet lychee fruit aroma and I needed the black tea base to pick me up. Once they brought the tea out to me in a pretty white with pink roses tea cup and saucer, I let it steep for four minutes. The brewed tea had a highly floral scent. Maybe a hint of jasmine? I loved how the sweet lychee hit my tongue first and the berry in the end of the sip. This was devine. I bet it would be great iced as well!
Preparation
This made a great choice for an afternoon treat this Valentines day. Paired it with a Raspberry Cheesecake cookie and it was sinful. I get almost a tingle on my tongue from sipping this tea. I’m not sure what makes that come across. I really like how the cherry and cream blend together, and the chocolate makes it even more delectable. Great blend! I will have to pick some of this up next adagio order!
Preparation
Thought today would be the perfect day to sample this tea. I was given some extra pink rosebuds to add to this blend so I added 3 buds to my two teaspoons of leaf. This made for pretty equal tastes of chocolate and rose with a mild black tea. I enjoyed this without sweetner, but may try with honey later this afternoon. Yum.
