558 Tasting Notes
Art of Tea Sampler 13/24
Yummmy in my tummy…this tea is very good! I never thought I’d enjoy a rooibos that wasn’t heavily flavored/blended/covered in sugar, but this is right up my alley. The blueberry is light and sweet and the cheesecake flavor is really in there. It is so good. I’m happy to have this tea to try courtesy of Jaime. Can’t wait to try the rest of the dessert teas. This is going on the shopping list for sure! I would love more of this blend around for my evening consumption!
Preparation
This is one delicious mojito-tea MojiTea? It doesn’t have the rum flavor, but I bet it would be great with a splash of rum, especially if one wants to imbibe on a chilly fall evening and still enjoy a summery drink.
The blackberry flavor is well done, the spearmint is noticeable (although I may try it with a little more for added flavor) and I think I’m getting a bit of plum and apple to show through as well. This is a nice softly fruit (in Teavana terms) green tea.
Preparation
Yipeee! Wahooooo! I love getting tea packages in the mail! My wonderful UPS delivery man dropped off my new Teavana teas while I was at work this morning. What a delight to come home and have new teas to play with. Being it a very early morning, I’m 12 hours into the day already, I debated between the Assam Breeze and the JavaVana Mate. The fruityness in this tea won out.
Upon opening the plastic pouch of tea, I was surrounded in a tropical explosion of pineapple and coconut and something with a sour note to it, maybe the lemongrass?
I steeped up a pot of this with boiling water for 3 minutes. The scent of the pineapple and lemongrass grew stronger. The sour note turned to sweet.
In taste, this is quite a light tea, the fruit flavor melds into one sweet pineapple lemon tart flavor with a subtle black tea base. The coconut and ginger are very mild, but there is a slight warming feeling upon drinking this tea that I am holding the ginger accountable for.
Next time I will steep this for longer than 3 minutes and use more leaf. It needs more oomph.
Preparation
Sad to be nearing the end of this tea:( It’s a nice sweet tart blend. Much lighter in flavor than I had imagined, but thankfully so. I love the sweet lemon and tart berry in this fruit blend. I needed this as a refreshing cup today after so many caffeinated teas today!
Used the Tea Randomizer (http://www.jaydeee.net/pickatea.php) to choose my tea this afternoon and this was the winner.
Fujian Baroque was the winner. Perfect selection for this afternoon. I like the light malty flavor. It has strong hints of berry fruityness.
I’m very new to drinking unflavored teas, but wanted to pick up a few to try when I visited the Adagio store. I like that the leaves were available to sniff at the store, which is why I chose this tea. It has a nice aroma of fruit and a bakey ness to the dry leaves.
I won’t rate this one until I try a few more cups. But I do like it!
Preparation
Enjoying this with a little sweetner today in my new teapot. I ordered a teapot from teasource on Friday and it arrived today! Such awesome service.
This tea is perfection with a little sugar. Brings out much more of the vanilla flavor and softens the mint a little. Enjoying this blend very much!
Preparation
I think I sent some your way in the package last week. If not, I’ll definitely send some your way. It is pretty tasty.
Did the package make it to you yet? I sent it on Monday (10/25). If not I can look up the tracking info and give them a call.
It wasn’t there when I checked my mail last night (went out of town over the weekend). Hopefully it will be there this afternoon. My David’s order says it “has been received at the delivery office in the destination country” as of 8 this morning…so maybe I’ll have a really, really good mail day!
Oooh that would be a great mail day! I’m excited to read your reviews of David’s Teas. Decided to wait once the teavana teas were listed, that will be my next order though. I hope that the Buttered Rum is to die for!
I’m refusing to look and see what the new teavana teas are. Because I have a feeling that would be bad for me.
I’m on their email list so I found out on payday what they were and went a little crazy. I have 9 different teas on the way from them. I shouldn’t have signed up for newsletters for so many different tea companies.
Jaime my davids order has said that since the 28th…. getting impatient LOL!!! hoping it is here soon!
Kristen, you might want to check with your post office. I had a card in the mail that says I have to sign for it…so I have to wait until tomorrow to go pick it up.
Meghann, I got it!!! Haven’t opened it yet but am so excited by the size of the box!!!
Jaime I just had a knock at the door from the post man and had to sign for it… I HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!! NA NA NA na na poo poo LOL teasing you! And they sent 3 samples of straw rubarb crumble, cafe mocha and cacoa paradiso! I am excited have to go fire up the breville, now what to pick first!!???!!
Think I may have steeped this too long today. It’s tasting more of black tea and zabaglione and not the bright tart strawberries from the first few cups. That, or I need to shake up the bag and get more berry parts in the brew. Still a good cuppa, just different.
I did it with a 2:30 steep at boiling, maybe a longer steep is necessary, although I usually do 3 minutes with Franks blacks.
I’m excited to be getting Harney’s Paris soon, so I can do a taste testing between this, Paris and Marco Polo and decide which strawberry tea needs to be in my cupboard at all time. If I can’t decide I will just have to alternate.
I’ll have what she’s having, please!
It’s really good as a tea latte…with white chocolate syrup and sweetened with blueberry jam!!
I’ll have to remember that…maybe a swirl of raspberry jam and milk would do the trick for the moment:)
Wow, this tea sounds amazing!!! Definitely adding it to my list to try! Been looking for tasty dessert teas lately.
I sooooooooo want to try this!
