Oh my goodness – it’s been so long since I’ve had this. I think it’s from an order four years ago, possibly? I don’t think Mandala even uses the same puerh base for it anymore… I need to polish this off and then queue for a distant future order, with the all-important Milk Oolong.
This tastes possibly more fermented than I remember. Definite sourdough.
Steep Count: 2
Flavors: Bread, Camphor, Cream, Earth, Nuts, Pleasantly Sour, Toasted Rice

The all important milk oolong, ahem. That one’s been on my list for a really long while. I am not making another tea order. Nope, not doing it. This month has already been beyond the beyond. Far too many weak moments. (Aand there might be another one.)
I’ve a pretty good supply of milk oolong remaining – and even enough to throw meager sample quantities into “the wild” of Steepster! Also have a good supply of treasured Sticky Rice Oolong and Oolong Caramel au Beurre Salé, if things get dire. :P I don’t see myself “needing” to ordering from Mandala until next summer/fall. Milk Oolong is essential to my tea life though.
I haven’t checked out Yunnan Sourcing yet though – so if my cupboard gets down and I want some puerh I may look over there XD
“The wild” of Steepster! How perfect!
Your posts often have that tempting enabler quality about them and I think that’s what I was responding to. That and the fact that, happily ans/or sadly, my finger has not been far from the add to cart button this month. And that this particular milk oolong has long been on my list.
I will pick some up eventually. I don’t really need to have it soon.I too often stock the treasures. However, things are really chaotic here and treasures emerge with yet more upheavals. Moving my bed around in search of elusive solid sleep, away from neighbours and their shenanigans, is not helping with the order of things.
I hope you find some peace and balance in your home soon. Those neighbours sound like.. a lot.
My sleep is definitely disturbed recently (not external/environmental though), and it’s a vicious cycle of over-caffeinating and hugging tea as coping mechanism; that’s probably subtly creeped into my tasting notes. I’ll try to switch to sad rooibos notes; I have so much drab rooibos and old tea that I should drink up before posting about the “new-ish” and flashy stuff. :P
Thank you. They are, and have been,… a lot.
I’m sorry that that cycle has sent you off kilter for the past bit. That sucks. I suspect we are all self-medicating to find our way through. That sad rooibos—I pass by, I look at it, and choose something more thrilling. Though to be fair to rooibos and honey bush, I enjoy it when I choose it and make it. Even the faded stuff. Same for the old tea. There are some that likely I will not be drinking, but can’t seem to toss them. Always in search of the thrill/ comfort or whatever it is that is needed at the time.
