391 Tasting Notes
This was awesome! I got it in a sampler pack and it was hard to pick. I’m glad I tried this one as the first from Teajo because now I’m looking forward to going through the pack. I did it as an iced tea since I had made a green tea hot. I hated the green tea so I drank this to try get the taste out and it was sooooo good. Fruity and juicy, it tastes like I added passion fruit juice to it. I would buy this again.
I am not having luck with the Shan Valley teas… I brewed at about 175 degrees so I thought it’d be ok. It really wasn’t bitter, just strong. It’s too bad that it was a strong taste because I didn’t like the taste… it was too much like I’m eating my lawn. I haven’t had a green tea with this taste, it’s totally not for me. I’ll definitely try again (in a while), never know maybe it was a fluke.
Thanks to Tea At Sea for sending out samples! I like this oolong, it’s got that floral taste but it’s not too strong for me. It was a really light yellow color when steeped the first time.. maybe it wasn’t long enough but I liked the mild taste and could taste a little sweetness. I steeped it a couple more times and it was good.
Tea At Sea does samples well, and the little cork sailboat is definitely cute! It’s a tasty black tea. It’s got a strong, yummy taste – a little baky, sweet – and went well with my breakfast anpan. Nothing about it that I didn’t like. Happy day… I love Saturdays.
I put off writing a tasting note on this because I thought I just made it wrong when I tried it the first time. The morning rush before going to work May not be the best time to try new teas… But, on my lazy Saturday morning the results were the same unfortunately. This tea for me has a little smokiness and was really strongly bitter. It tasted better with some creamer, but this isn’t something I’d buy more of.
I love Cookie, it smells yummy and tastes bakey too. I got this teabag from the newsletter a while back. I used to buy this one in college, I’d kind of forgotten until I opened it up and smelled it. If I didn’t already have so much tea then I’d go get some of this next time I go up to Honolulu. I’m getting a lingering mellow vanilla taste which is totally going well with my pastry breakfast. It is really good with milk too.
I know the feeling, though the plane ride is only 45 minutes the inter island fares are too expensive for me to go often… it’s a good thing that tea ships :)
