This is a pretty standard English Breakfast. It is a bit strong for me, I found it a bit bitter and overly tannic, but I think milk would have mellowed it out a bit. This would be a good blend for those who like strong/tannic black teas or need a lot of caffeine, but it isn’t my personal favourite.

Drank this, as usual, without cream and sugar. It’s much thinner and zippier than some other English breakfast teas I’ve tried recently (e.g., Twinings and Bigelow), with a bright, bitter herbal finish. To me it tastes light and insubstantial; maybe I was hoping for something mellower. Still the flavor is at least interesting, so I’d recommend with reservations (try a sample if you can!)

Usually drink tea straight, but I had to add a little bit of honey and sugar for this one to taste good. Quite bitter. Still good

I’ve had either really great experiences with this tea, or really bland ones; flavorful, or chalky. Needs cream and sugar… a bit harder to drink black.

I can only take this steeped for exactly 5 minutes with no milk or sugar. It’s mild – or maybe flavorless is a better word? It smells like black tea, but it doesn’t taste like much of anything at all.

Well, I was thrown off my Daylight Savings more than usual. As a result, I rushed out of the house without my mug and other tea things that I brought home for the weekend. So I had to make do with teabags and paper cups at work. I don’t think that this tea is necessarily that terrible, but the paper cup really makes it taste like malty paper. I guess the upside is that the tea is not bitter at all! I wouldn’t buy these teabags for myself, but it was a nice quick fix at work this morning.

I’m so behind with my tea notes lately. I’m still drinking my daily tea, but I haven’t had a chance to add them here. I’ve been preoccupied, mostly with work. I do have a few notes written down so that should help later.

I’m guessing the only reason I have a couple bags of this is because I swiped them from a hotel room at some point. I don’t think I’ve ever actually bought a box of this tea. It’s good though. Not amazing, but I enjoyed it. I think I have one bag left.

This is one of my pantry staples. Dependable and no fuss, and easy to tuck the bags in my purse.

It’s pretty reliable and it definitely lives up to its name (for me, at least – I tend to be a bit sensitive to caffeine). Having my last bag of it this morning.

This is my go to tea when I need energy and there’s a Starbucks nearby. It is strong, but I like cream and sugar, and that cuts down on the strength a bit. Good for breakfast on mornings where you’re zapped.

This tea is strong and malty and just a bit bitter if you drink it straight. It’s delicious with milk! I drank an entire box and enjoyed every cup, but my not re-purchase because I’m getting into loose-leaf black teas which I enjoy even more.

In an effort to save some of my tea samples for when my tastebuds are actually working, I rummaged through Tony’s cupboard & found a few bags of this. At least it’s bold & black!
