This is tea 5/50 I bought in a Stash Assortment. I finally brewed a tea bag in the correct 8oz volume of water. I thought I liked licorice but this was too strong for me. I would like it more less licorice and more spice.

Multiple previous tastings: This is my favorite tea of all time so far. First tried this a few years ago, and have since bought at least 30 boxes. Always 2 tea bags in 16 ounces, brewed for 8 to 10 minutes. It’s very smooth and the licorice taste is nice and strong.

(Edit) Side note: try a good mozzarella with some sort of licorice tea if you can. The flavors in the cheese get wild.

Loved this tea in college with a bit of honey or Splenda. It didn’t disappoint when I retried it, and it doesn’t need any sweetener now – there’s a sweet finish at the end of each sip. Very soothing for an upset stomach.

Growing up, I drank licorice tea all the time. This is my first time trying the version from Stash. I’m happy to report that it tastes like the flavor I love and expect. I do not like licorice mixed with real tea, but as an herbal, it’s so lovely. It’s sweet on its own, it pleasantly coats your mouth, the flavor is strong. I’ll say that I didn’t notice where the “spice” comes in. Maybe the slight warming in the mouth is from a hint of spice… But anyway, it’s been a few years since I’ve had a licorice tea on my shelf, and I’m happy for its return!

You may be one of the only other people on Steepster I’ve seen besides myself and Derk that likes Licorice Root! (It seems to be one of those ingredients along with Hibiscus and Stevia that seems to be universally abhorred around here, heh). I love it, too! (I also like fennel and anise which have quite licorice tasting notes to them!) I’ve never had this tea, though I did have a nice licorice spice blend from T2 once, and my favorite sore throat tea, Margaret’s Soother from TeaSource, is peppermint, clove, and licorice root, and it’s amazingly tasty, such a simple blend but each comes out just right (and if you do have a sore throat, the mix of menthol/licorice and touch of clove really is such a nice balm).

Licorice so good! (And stevia and hibiscus are also good :P ) I always had Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat growing up. I’ll have to try those others if I come across them! It’s always fun to see the different combos brands come up with.

Gah! no.

Licorice root AND spices, nope. Not a pleasant cup, or at least, not for me.

I enjoy this one. It’s definitely better as a sick tea though.

I’ve been really hit or miss with Stash in general lately, but this actually does sound right up my alley.

Before this tea all my licorice based-tea experiences were good. Do not recommend. If you are looking for a good licorice tea I would go for Pukka’s licorice cinamon. This tea has a sickening flavour to me and cannot drink it withiut being nauseous.

Not a tea I’d ever try as a cold brew (even the thought as one seems off-putting). However, as a hot tea, this is, hands down, one of my favorites, and, as a bonus, the cost is low so it makes buying it a guilt free pleasure. This is a tea you will always find on-hand at my house.

The tea has a strong black licorice aroma that, usually, carries through in flavor. I say usually because every now and then I get a bag where the flavor doesn’t match the aroma. It’s the only flaw I have found, thus far, with this tea.

I rarely find the need to enhance the tea’s flavor with sugar or milk. Once I added milk to see how it affected the tea and disliked it so much that I have never added it since. Whenever I happen across a weak bag I will add a bit of sugar or a piece of licorice root to draw out the flavor.

This is a tea I recommend to anyone that likes black licorice.

I hate licorice in tea. I really do. I am not going to give this tea a super low rating though, just because I don’t like licorice. In all truthfulness, it’s not a bad tea. I just can’t get past the licorice flavour in it or any other tea that has licorice flavour in it, for that matter. Any person who adores licorice in tea will likely love this because licorice is definitely front and centre with some other spices mingling in the background. This tea came in a sampler pack that I received for Christmas from a friend so luckily there are only 3 of each variety. I am not a wasteful person so even if I’m not crazy about a tea, I always use it all up no matter what. However, it’s a bonus that my cousin is coming to visit for a few days as he drinks a lot of tea and isn’t picky so the remainder of this tea will gleefully and undoubtedly be finished up by him.

I have a box of that in a bottom drawer. I seem to recall I didn’t care for it either. And I do like black licorice. But it moderation. One or two pieces of it are enough for me.

The thing is, I like eating black licorice. Like those black Twizzlers, yum! So it seems odd that I don’t like black licorice flavour in other things, but I don’t. I’m funny that way. I like apples but not apple juice. I also like coconut but won’t touch coconut cream pie. Go figure!

A solid licorice tea. I tried this as a cheap alternative for Yogi’s Egyptian Licorice, and it does pretty well. The vanilla (and possibly sarsaparilla) is a little off-putting, I think, and dominates too heavily (especially if steeped too long) making it a little too sweet for my palate.

I love licorice and I’ve been drinking this tea for years. It just tastes like licorice root to me. It’s best hot. I noticed yesterday that it develops flavors that I don’t care for as it cools.
