Dough it up

One of the best things about winter is baking tons of cookies. Or more specifically, snacking on the cookie dough. But when you don’t have time to fire up the oven and get baking, this deliciously sweet white tea blend is the next best thing. With almonds, walnuts, caramel, brittle and chocolate chips, it’s like brewing up an instant sugar cookie. Only this version is even good for you – it’s the perfect guilt-free treat to get you through the winter. Don’t forget to lick the spoon! Limited edition.

Ingredients: White tea, cocoa peel, almonds, walnuts, cream caramel pieces, roasted cocoa brittle, chocolate chips, artificial flavouring*.

Allergens: Soy, dairy and tree nuts

The smell of this tea dry does nothing for me. Smells sweetly alcoholic (more like cookie dough gone bad). But it does taste pretty great! Not overly sweet and definitely aptly named. The smell softens once steeped as well. A good dessert tea. I’d buy again to keep on hand for an after-dinner treat when I’m too full for real cookies.

This tea is wonderful! :) The smell is lovely just like cookie dough well actually this tea smells better than cookie dough! The tea tastes like liquidized cookie dough too. I ran out of this tea yesterday and I plan to buy more of cookie dough tea!

This tea is delightful, it has the aroma of Rolo hot-chocolate when steeped. I would definitely recommend a cup of this delicious tea on a snowy night to warm you up!

Another fantastic tea from the Winter Collection. You don’t taste the white tea very strongly, as it really taste just like liquid-form chocolate chip cookie dough.

I decided to try to make this more cookie like with what I have on hand.
I mixed this with some Cocoa Shells.

Brewed this smells more like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough already though it’s missing the vanilla. Taste wise It’s definitely closer to tasting like a chocolate chip cookie though I don’t personally love it still. The Cocoa shells gave it more of that fruitiness that Dark Chocolate often has which gives it more of a dark chocolate truffle vibe overall. Maybe I added too many cocoa shells? Still an enjoyable cup and someone who is a fan of very dark chocolate might like this combo.

Grabbed a sample of this from the last tea box. I like it a lot more than when I tried it a few years ago – I thought it was terribly chemically then. It still tastes a bit artificial, but I can also sense what they were going for in the flavor. It tastes a little bit like cookie dough, but it’s super mild even though I leafed my cup like usual. I didn’t grab enough for a second cup, but I’m sure if you upped the leaf, the flavor would be more accurate. You’d be able to taste more of the artificiality that way too though.

This is a blend that also really benefits from milk; something about it just sort of “completes” the flavour, in a weird way? I go back and forth on whether I like it plain, personally. Sometimes I get Cookie Dough and sometimes I get Play Doh…

I didn’t have any milk in the house the day I made it or I definitely would have tried that! Milk can save many teas!

From TTB 2019/2020.

I got a vague sense of cookie dough while this was steeping, but now that I’m drinking it I’m not really tasting it. I do taste a little chocolate, maybe like chocolate chips. It’s very light and bland, with a small amount of bitterness. I did steep this based on some of the other reviews instead of per the package directions so that could account for the bitterness. I was really looking forward to this one after reading some of the reviews, but this one just isn’t for me.

Sipdown 117/395, we’re on a roll guys!

Another pot shared with the boyfriend, and the first one he’s chosen which wasn’t a black tea base. He wasn’t keen this time around, so maybe we should stick to black teas for a while. Ease him into it a bit more. In fairness to him, I didn’t give him much choice – I had a few teas I wanted to move out and basically made him pick one of a few instead of giving him free reign, and I could tell that none of them really took his fancy. To give him credit where credit is due, he did pick one and dutifully drank half of the pot, before delivering his verdict that it was alright but he probably wouldn’t choose it again. Never mind. I on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed it, and was pleasantly surprised at how well the flavours had stood the test of time. A very pleasant dessert replacement with accurate flavours, though not one I would choose if I were looking for a complex white. This could be to do with the age of the tea (I’ve had it a couple of years) but after reading a few other reviews on here I’m inclined to believe that the tea base was never a standout to begin with. Thanks for the sample, WhatSheSaid!

I got this as part of the Throwback Sweethearts gift box. I had such high hopes for this tea! However, my first few sips were quite bitter. I added rock sugar to bring out the sweetness, but more than anything else, I could only taste nuts (almond and walnut). Not bad, but not good either.
