One of the first teas I’ve tried from DT.
If you generally like chocolatey black teas, you’ll like this one. The almond and chicory root aren’t prominent flavours, and the raspberry is mild; I wouldn’t call this a fruity tea. But overall it tastes like a lovely blend of chocolate and raspberry.
If you need a shot of caffeine, definitely try chocolate rocket. Numerous friends of mine have had this and stayed jittery and work-productive until 2am.

I got a new job the other day and decided to celebrate by treating myself to copious amounts of tea! I ADORE mate (can’t live without those stimulants!) but was worried that the artificially flavoring would make it cloyingly sweet.

Scent: Tootsie rolls + raspberry flavored cough syrup + maple syrup. Yuck… its not very appetizing. Every time I take a sip I’m expecting medicine. Luckily this mate tastes completely different than it smells!

Flavour: its pretty decent, but not the best mate or dessert tea I’ve had. I honestly expected it to be better because of the rave reviews I read. Its smooth, chocolatey and surprisingly thin, with an artificial almond aftertaste that coats your mouth for a while. This would make a good dessert mate though, I’ll try it next time I get the munchies! I can see myself craving this on a cold, rainy morning.

I tried this tea in store a long time ago…for me, it was a bit bitter. I did finish the cup but I would probably not try it again and will not be stocking up any time soon.

I love this taste and smell of this one but its the second Mate tea I’ve tried and I think they are giving me headaches. I drink coffee on occasion so I am not new to caffeine but I think the mate teas have quite a bit and maybe that it what causes the headaches. Has anyone else had this problem? Its a shame because Chocolate Rocket really is a great tea, maybe a little too much chicory for me but still delicious.

I really like this one. I can taste the almonds with a hint of chocolate. I see that it is also supposed to have a raspberry taste, but I did not get that. I would buy this again.

Having this again… I am going to increase its rating… it is really good. As soon as I opened the bag I got an awesome hit of the chocolate. I even think I smelled the energy from the mate. Okay, so the later might just be a placebo effect, but it is true, the smell made me feel energized. I need to buy more of it as I am now on my last cup.

My perfect morning tea!

This is up there with teas that I stuck my tongue at… at first. Chocolate? Raspberries? Give me a break!

Like another reviewer mentioned, the tea was thinner than I expected. But the combination of the mate, almonds, chocolate, and raspberries was fantastic. It shakes up my normal “earl grey” morning routine. Prior to my mate purchases last week, I had only tried mate once, and it made me feel “crazy” so never again. This tea did not have the same effect, but I felt energized up until after lunch (my usual energy drag) – however, I’m a morning person, so I’m probably not the best person to judge the “energy” quality of this tea.

I wouldn’t give this to anxious people. The excess energy would probably not be good for them (same with guarana teas).

In my DT advent calendar. I liked it and think I might purchase it or at least try again. It’s been a while since I tried it and my brain is tiny.

Ah Chocolate Rocket. I wish you had more chocolate to you. Perhaps, being an addict, I don’t say “WOOO chocolatey!” unless it hits me in the face. To me this is more Rasberry Rocket with a hint of chocolate, and when I see it that way I am no longer disappointed, and actually quite content to drink this tea. I love the stimulating factor that comes with a mate, and the rasberry/almond scent is invigorating.

I drink this every single morning, and it is probably the sweetest tea I enjoy. The raspberries are prominent.
