Popular Tasting Notes
I’m not a genmaicha snob by any means but I can taste the difference between a good one and a bad one. This is the first time I’ve tried genmaicha with anything in it besides matcha. I can very distinctly taste the cacao but the ganmaicha isn’t as good as I hd hoped it would be. Tastes like a lower grade but then it could also be because of the other ingredients.
Overall, not a bad tea but not one that makes me thing I really want to drink it again.
Preparation
Got this as a free sample with my Mighty Leaf order. It’s okay. I really like the strength of the vanilla in it. It brings some smoothness and sweetness to the tea. But the black tea that’s used in this isn’t the best, and it doesn’t complement the vanilla taste very well, in my opinion. All in all, I’m glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t buy it. (It does taste better as it cools, though!)
Preparation
Organic never tasted so good: This black tea, an Oothu from India, blends ginseng in seamlessly and almost drinks like a glass of wine. The vanilla softens and warms the overall flavor, while the mint freshens and the ginger appears only at the end, leaving a subtle, lasting impression of spice on the palette. Assertive yet comforting, it weds well with milk, sugar and honey in particular.
Preparation
A smooth, rich chocolate tea with intense cocoa flavours. It brews a deep, rich brown colour, and the liquor smells like milk chocolate. The pu’erh flavour does come through when you drink this tea, adding a pleasant earthiness to the tea. Overall, it’s a lovely, well-balanced cocoa tea that forgoes the cloyingly sweet tendencies that other chocolate teas tend to acquire.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Earth
Preparation
It was a nice change from the ordinary and would probably be good with milk in it. It smelled like this candy that an old neighbor used to buy when I was a kid…they were little caramel things in brightly colored foil wrappers that sold by the pound at the grocery store. Anywho, the smell was amazing, so after that the taste was a bit of a let down. It’s probably really good for people who can’t have sugar, though.
