Popular Tasting Notes
Interesting! I had never heard of Genmaicha before. Toasted rice! Popped corn! With a green tea? What a surprise! It has a toasty flavor. I’m learning to appreciate a nice green tea because the green tea knows how to bring out the other flavors included. The smell of the toasted rice reminds me of a certain cereal from my childhood, but I’m not sure which. And I doubt the cereal was even made of toasted rice. You can smell and taste the popcorn, and there was only a couple little pieces in my sample. I wonder what a tea would be like with mostly popcorn? And would you add butter to it? :D
Boring. ‘Soft’ mouthfeel is right- there’s not enough happening in here for anything to wake up your tongue. There’s okay-ish white tea and a blueberry note. If you don’t like your tea slapping you in the face, maybe this is for you. It was not for me. It’s not offensive, however, which fruited teas can certainly be if they go too far in the direction of lively, so I understand the rational behind being conservative.
Flavors: Blueberry, Grass, Sweet, Tea
Preparation
I love this because it doesn’t leave the bitter aftertaste or acidic aftertaste that coffee does. With milk and a little bit of sugar, this has a nice full body and makes a hearty drink. I think I taste a little chocolate with the caramel and honey. I’m not sure what the purpose of the little strawberry bits is, because this doesn’t taste fruity. It seems impossible to over-brew this, so let it steep a long time. Yum! Also good with a little egg nog instead of milk.
Preparation
This is one of my new favourite winter teas. At first i thought that the white chocolate would not come through in the flavour but it was to my surprise that the white chocolate stood out throughout the flavour and aroma of the peppermint and peppercorns. This is definitely going to be permanently stocked in my tea cabinet
Preparation
This is definitely a good tea to have in your arsenal. It has a mild flavor that doesn’t need any sweetener unless you’re used to that sort of thing (I’m a Paleoist, so my taste buds have adjusted to need less sweet than most peoples). Without sweetener, you can definitely pick up the creamy vanilla at the end of your sip. Delicious. Definite repurchase.
