Retried this with a shorter cooler steep, and enjoyed it a lot more. This time I did not get a bitter grassy flavor, but a warm leafy greenness instead. Though the smokiness is also toned down, and I miss it.

I purchased this tea today. I’m usually a “Twinning” tea person but always will try something new. This tea is good. It’s not the best Ginger tea I’ve had but the fact that it has turmeric makes up for the lack of heat from the Ginger. This tea is an excellent purchase if you’re new to consuming Ginger. I’m a seasoned vet so the tea is mild in my opinion.

The leaves smell like dark chocolate and fruit jam in the bag, in fact this might be the most chocolatey smelling Yunnan I’ve experienced thus far. Brewed up pretty dark. The interesting thing is on taste, it tastes like Yunnan tea, yet it also reminds me of a Darjeeling. I added a little sugar and now it tastes more like a good, robust Yunnan. Kind of molasses like. I’d order this again if the price is right.

It’s a very good, rich tea. Not a sweet type for me, that’s an ultimate green flavor. Very pleasant long taste with a lot of umami.

This tea has got to be my number one addiction right now.
I do admit, not a fan of this tea as a hot beverage, but iced? Yes please!! I am a tea guide at DavidsTea on a quest to try all the teas on our wall but with Pink Flamingo taunting me every single shift I always cave and make myself a cup.
When hot, I find it can get a little tart due to the over all combination flavours in it. It’s definitely more of a summer tea where you can sit back and make a giant pitcher of this guy. Throwing in a splash of agave in the iced tea brings out more of the citrus and hibiscus flavours in there making it the best summer tea yet! It almost has a grapefruit taste going but also has really sweet notes in it as well. Yum!!

Day 23 of David’s Tea’s 24 Days of Tea 2017

For someone who usually hates cranberries, I didn’t actually mind this tea. There are enough other fruity teas that I probably wouldn’t bother buying this one, however. The little stars are a cute touch, though.

So I tend to make 3-liter pitchers of iced tea fairly regularly, and this has become my base tea of choice. Recently, I added a couple of Stash Triple Ginseng herbal bags into the mix while it was steeping (brewed at near-boiling). They gave the blend a very bright and floral quality that was more than pleasant. Recommended.
