Popular Tasting Notes
Actually, this is really quite nice. I brewed it up super strong as a chai on the stove yesterday and it didn’t need any honey – the apricots sweetened it enough without being overpowering. Had a weaker, normal-teapot brew today with a bit of milk and sugar and it was also pretty good (got the thumbs up from my dad as well, not the most adventurous tea drinker out there). The apricot taste actually still came through ok as it didn’t when I tried it just black the first time. May re-think about sticking this one in the shop, following a bit of further experimentation.

-Preface
I unfortunately reserved this “Reserve Tea” for a few years so I may not have the freshest notes. I kept it in the shipping box for a few years and the final few months sealed in my refrigerator

Scissor harvested vibrant green because is was slow grinded(pale/yellow color indicates “cooking” of matcha do to heat from friction of high speed grinding) on a mill is quoted at only grinding 3-5 kg/day. Sweet enough to make thin style usucha (2g to 2.5 oz water) matcha. A great matcha if you can afford it. L-theanine to boot (usually I fell hyped after matcha this knocked me on my butt, my world literally slowed down) but relatively low caffeine which was shocking I am used to other matchas being super high in energy, a possible reasoning may be first flush quality japanese tea are lower in caffeine (bitter) but high in amino acids leading to a sweeter taste.

Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts. I’ve been drawn to it for years now, but I absolutely fell in love with it during my time in Italy last summer. Ever since I’ve started trying to eat healthier, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a tiramisu tea that I could enjoy as a substitute. This is the first one I’ve tried, and I love it! The dry aroma is heavenly – coffee and cream. Some of that disappeared in the aroma of the freshly brewed cup, but it all came right back in the taste. The label recommends 1-2 tsp of tea per 8oz, so I went with 2; I tend to like my tea strong. I steeped for 9 minutes. Luckily, it turned out perfectly. Before tasting, I entertained the notion of adding a bit of milk – but this tea doesn’t need it! Now I have something yummy to turn to when I’m craving tiramisu and can’t have any :)
