Popular Tasting Notes
I’ve been to Hawaii only twice, but after buying a small tiny tin of this the first time, I learned my lesson and bought 150g the second time around. This tea is just phenomenal. The quality of the oolong is out of this world. This is a very, very fresh tasting tea. It’s sweet but not too sweet. Fruity, but not like an herbal/tisane.
There are tiny little confeito candies in the tea, probably flavoured with juice, which really gives it that sweet flavour. This tea needs no extra sweetening, it’s really quite fabulous without any added sweetener. My friends who don’t even drink tea are always impressed by this one as well. I think it’s one of my favourite oolongs. Lupicia really knows how to do oolong well.
Preparation
Not a big fan of this one. I adore Darjeelings most of the time (one of my favourite black tea varieties) but this one is so lacklustre. I still have most of the package that I bought years ago. It just doesn’t have that characteristic flavour I was looking for.
Preparation
Spicy, very aromatic. Owerpowering. Spicy chai and orange. Cardemmom, cloves, less cinamon. Black tea. Very smooth blend, very cozy. Milk and sugars are a must – Treat it like a chai.
Flavors: Almond, Anise, Cardamom, Spicy
Preparation
This is probably one of my all-time favorite teas, gifted to me by a friend. I tend to save it for when I feel like I really need a little pick-me-up. And I need one tonight. The most prominent flavor I get from this is coconut, with the other spices backing it up nicely. It’s like they’re blanketed in a soft coconut layer.
Flavors: Coconut, Ginger, Spices
Preparation
A pretty strong tea that kept producing flavorful infusions for a long time. The tea has some astringency and the flavor profile leans towards earth, leather, books and the like. Nice bitterness which sits in the mouth for quite some time.
Flavors: Bitter, Earth, Leather, Paper
I love this one Iced. I steep it in my davids tea steeper (18oz one). 2 1/2 davids perfect teaspoons full and 1 1/2 of raw cane sugar, and I fill it 3/4 of the way with boiling water and steep for 5 min, then drain it over a glass of ice stir it around abit, Today I put some fresh lemons in with the ice as well. Taste delicious.
Flavors: Lemon
Preparation
Definite holiday drink. The scent out of the bag is STRONG, but in the beverage the scent is not overpowering. The tastes you’d associate with chai are all there, along with apple and cinnamon, making the quintessential holiday beverage to keep you warm without resorting to alcohol or cider.
The cinnamon will prick you a bit in the back of your throat. Nice surprise.
Preparation
This is the first ever tea that I tried from DT and it was the one that made me fall in love with their non-conventional flavored teas. It was bought as a gift for me around Christmas time, which is the perfect season to enjoy this spiced tea. Pumpkin spiced latte? No thanks! Hand me that Pumpkin Chai please. It’s a nice blend of spice with that hint of pumpkin. It’ll be your favorite seasonal tea if it isn’t already.
