I did it! I didn’t oversteep at work! Huzzah! And the good news is that this is a lovely flavoured black tea, hints of berry sweetness with a delicious medium black tea base. Yes, this is very nice.

drank Summer Puddin' by Jeffersons Tea

Do you know what? This one is named pretty appropriately—or at least inspiredly. That’s not a word though, is it? Anyway. Knowing it was called summer puddin’, I drank it and thought of summer puddings, and it seemed pretty spot on. I’m looking forward to trying it iced.

2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Guess what! I oversteeped this! Hahahaha yeah cool. Gotta stop attempting decent brews while I’m on the phones at work. Maybe tomorrow…

drank Honey Honey by T2

Sipdown #11 on the Quest.

For some reason I thought I didn’t like honey bush very much, but today has proven that thought incorrect. It’s certainly not the worst. A little sweet, quite earthy but light, I’m gonna stop avoiding future tastings of this.

But I’m also not gonna rush out and buy it?

Ooh I like sipdown quests ;)

drank Indian Spice by T2

Ok, I could definitely sense what they were going for here, but when you need to steep a black tea for 2-3mins and they recommend steeping Indian Spice for 5-7mins that’s not really gonna add up. I put a scoop of this with my Art of Tea lemon myrtle black and it got too astringent around 5mins. One sample scoop left to play with. A green next time?

Threw in a scoop of this with my second steeping of DAVIDsTEA Chocolate Orange and it made the latter so much more awesome. My Cinnamon Somersault stock is getting tooooooo low :(

Tried some more of this today to see if putting it on my swap list was actually the right decision—yep, it’s just not quite my cup of tea (SWIDT). Gonna try one more re-steep with a scoop of T2 Cinnamon Somersault but I won’t mind swapping away the rest of it.

100 — CRITICAL OBSESSION LEVEL REACHED; CAN YOU MARRY TEA!?
95 — this must always be in my pantry. forever.
90 — excellent! you need to try this tea!
85 — very good! you should try this tea!
80-70 — I enjoyed this and will happily drink it again.
65-50 — Fine. Unremarkable.
45-35 — this wasn’t the worst drink ever but I was disappointed; it didn’t live up to my expectations at all.
30-0 — I didn’t enjoy this tea and that makes me sad.

MY TEASTORY:

Grandad got me started young, white (a LOT of white) Irish breakfast with two.

I never strayed far from that until the world of T2 Tea came to Brisbane some years ago, and now I don’t know what I’d do without a pantry full of tea options.

These days I prefer to drink my teas straight without sweetener (though I appreciate some black variations shine better with milk and/or a dash of honey/sugar). I also love a speedy iced tea (hot brewed then poured over ice), and my latest obsession is cold brewing (which doesn’t make a lot of sense, as Australia is headed into winter and I live in the coldest corner of the country, but oh well).

I’d love to make a bunch of tea friends on here, especially those who can talk Aussie teas with me. I’ve recently come back from a jaunt to North America and it was a real hoot to hit up DAVIDsTEA after reading so many reviews! I wish I’d had the chance to get to more stores… but I’m happy with what I got back past customs. See those teas and my local jams in my reviews.

I LOVE:
+ black teas
+ white teas
+ oolongs
+ flavoured versions of all three of the above
+ herbal infusions and fruit tisanes

NOT A FAN:
+ most green teas
+ LICORICE ROOT (my sworn enemy) and aniseed flavours
