1024 Tasting Notes
Why is the last cup always the best!? :’(
I used pure cream and it was amazing. It was so amazing. Oh my gosh. Oh. Goodbye you precious beast.
Welp, I don’t know if I’m biased because I know this tea came directly from a chai wallah in the heart of India, but I’m pretty sure this is the most deliciously blended chai I’ve ever tried.
Perfect for today’s rainy day. Another from the Monstrositea April box, by the way. I had to wait to get some decent milk from the organic guys at the farmers’ market today and it just so happened that the weather today begged for some chai to be drunk. Apparent temp 4°C at 2pm! Brrrr. I’m rugged up on the couch with a book… wishing I had more chai.
(Almost ruined everything by leaving the kitchen for 2mins, which was the 2mins the pot decided to boil over. Don’t know how I saved it but I did! PHEW.)
I took a whole bunch more teas upstairs to my bedside tea station last night, thinking of this morning in glee. What I forgot was to take my strainer back upstairs. This morning’s choice was purely based on the fact that I could filter the bits out with my teeth. But heck, this is maybe my favourite fruit tisane right now, so it was a win anyway.
You know that pimple I had coming up the other day? Gone. Totes gone. I don’t know if it was the tea or the pimple cream I kept reapplying all day—OK it was PROBABLY the pimple cream but the tea didn’t hinder the operation at all.
So now I’m drinking some more just to be safe, and also because a) it’s a cold night and cinnamon tea is delicious and b) this is approaching a sipdown, and I love sipdowns.
Very sad sipdown tonight, but I decided it was time.
This is pretty darn delicious and I’ll miss it. Oh, for a DAVIDsTEA in Australia.
I’m trying a resteep now because I’m so desperate to hang onto the last dregs of this. It might be terrible, but I promise I’ll throw it down the sink if it is.

So, this is the custom blend I came up with at the T2 Tea Society event earlier this week. It’s got:
50% T2 Chocolate
25% T2 Riotous Rose
25% T2 Just Rose
I was pretty anxious about making a blend from limited pre-mixed blends and I have to say I continued to be anxious after trying the blend because it just… wasn’t right. I shied away from it for a couple of days, fretting about the ratios and how the heck I was gonna fix it.
I brought some in to work today to see what I could do. I started by adding around 3/4 tsp of raw sugar…
Fixed.
YAY
I don’t really get the chocolate from the black tea, but I’ve got some Cocoa Loco at home I COULD add to see if I could up that. In the end it doesn’t really matter, the rose is pretty prominent (especially after eating some Fry’s turkish delight) and I’m happy and RELIEVED.
