drank Gingerbread by Adagio Teas

Not bad! This one seems to get a lot of negative reviews. I’m not going to go out and buy a pound of this, but it’s definitely drinkable. I definitely get a molasses smell along with the spices and ginger. Lighter taste, definitely gingerbread. Again, not bad.

So I don’t even watch Teen Wolf (well I didn’t, I decided to check it out a few days ago) but I saw this on the popular blends page and I need some seasonal teas!
Dry this smells like a almond cookie with spice and caramel. Sweet but not overpowering.
It brews up nice and dark, with the almond oolong as the strongest smell and spice after that.
Strong and smooth, definitely get that base oolong taste and black tea gives a bit more body. A bit earthy/wood, probably from the oolong and a slight astringency. The pumpkin isn’t super evident and brings more spice/chai flavors than pumpkin. Yum!

drank Chocolate Chai by Adagio Teas

Trying to get through some of my older teas before they go bad (especially since I just ordered some holiday samples from Adagio, and another blend).
This isn’t bad, but I don’t think I’d restock it. I get more of a cocoa flavor than chocolate, but I like that. Ginger and cloves, this would be really good in cookie form! I’ll have to make this as a latte.

drank Peach Oolong by Adagio Teas

Alright, so backlogged from this morning. Had to go to work before I write anything (did I mention I got a job! Receptionist at a vet clinic until I can get into a tech program).

This was really lovely. I was worried about the smell because it comes off as a bit strong and artificial. However, once this is brewed the flavor/smell isn’t as strong and blends really well with the oolong. I like the Taiwanese base tea, the peach goes really well with the woody flavors. Also super easy to brew, I did a second steeping as well and there were no problems with steeping it longer.

So, you know those custom blends on Adagio? Well I want to make some so I’m testing some stuff out today. I want to make a Dune blend (from the Frank Herbet books, I finished the first one a little white ago).

So I’m testing out teas with some rooibos vanilla chai, a bit of lapsang souchong, and maybe spiced mate. Not sure yet, I need that cinnamon flavor though. I think the lapsang might be overpowering everything though, so I might have to take that out. Hmmm.

I made up two blends, one with mocha nut mate and one with spiced. I actually like the mocha nut more I think… need more taste testing. Maybe side-by-side.

Sounds like fun :)
