It’s the Steepster Dictionary! Any Steepster Member can add a word, phrase, lingo, definition, etc. HAVE FUN!
Okay! Since I used this word earlier today and a few people snickered…I thought it would be fitting to add it to the Steepster Dictionary!
Tartier
As in – the tea was tart before but after sitting/cooling a bit…it’s even tartier.
Yes, I know I could have put “more tart” but it’s not as fun
PLUS you could always make it sound French – to be more upscale sounding
HAHAHAHAHA
Fuzzy: anything that’s cloying and sticks to your tongue (any licorice root flavor, in my book).
“Needs more cowbell” – when a tea is lacking that little extra something to make it perfect…but you don’t know what it is. The je ne sais quoi in teas.
Example: This tea almost scored 100 in my book. It just could have used a little more cowbell.
nose- smell or aroma
mouth feel- the texture of the tea (yes, tea can have a texture)
decant- to separate the leaves from the liquid
sweeTEAness- An exclaimation like Sweet! or Awesome! pertaining to anything tea related (tea, teaware, food item, sale, tea shop/house/company)
sweeTEA- someone in your life that you care about that also loves tea. Could also be a stranger… “The sales woman at Fava Tea Co. was such a sweeTEA! She helped me find exactly what I was looking for.”
I am new to Steepster and I honestly thought I came up with teahee all on my own today…man. Why did I not find this thread sooner XD
When I think of cowbell…it brings me back when I was a kid running thru the cow pasture…lot of Pooo!
“gritty” – there’s a significant amount of “grime” that is tasted in the back of your throat, i.e. when there is too much spice or something.
The Steepster Overlords – Jason, Jack, and Mike: the awesome dudes who created and run this awesome website, and who hold sway over all its denizens. XD
Bakey – a frequently-used (some might say over-used) term refering to a substantial, warm, toasted or baked flavour similar to bread or other baked products.
Jillian will laugh – again – but I jokingly used the botched term boo-koo before in describing something…just another of me saying “A LOT” or a “CRAZY AMOUNT OF” something…
“Steeps” – While commonly used to signify multiple infusions, it can also be used to refer to the wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable people found on Steepster! :)
Murky…as in particles/debris or Murky…as in cloudy with texture
Floaties…as in particles/debris
well i like the word, but i do not like the rouge leaf in my cup trying to invade my mouth.
Floaties reminds me of SOMETHING else that is usually found in water :P. Sorry, had to say it haha
AtacDad found a rock in his morning blend the other day would this qualify as Murky?? LOL :)
@Lauren- Yep I guess Atacdad got his monies worth outta that bag of tea! :)
