I usually never drink this tea by itself. One way I love to prepare this tea is opening the sachets and boiling the loose leaves by themselves with some ginger, sugar, and clove, followed by adding milk to the boiling brew. It always comes out fantastic.
Preparation
This morning my stomach was feeling kind of ucky, but of course I didn’t have access to the lemon ginger teas I would usually drink in such a situation. The selection of Tazo bags in my hotel also didn’t include any with ginger, but I grabbed this one for the soothing spearmint in it.
Overall, not horrible. Not especially flavorful, but lightly minty and at least it soothed my discomfort. I’m out of that hotel now, so probably no more Tazo for a while, but it will still be a while before I’m back home. On it goes…
This is a funny tea. It’s light, and doesn’t have much definition to it, but I like it all the same… I think I like it because it’s so innocuous. It definitely doesn’t have the flavor of a green tea in any conventional sense, so I’m not sure why they label it that way. I steep it a little longer than usual, otherwise it doesn’t taste like anything at all.
I also like to drink it when I’m not feeling well and strong scents/flavors turn my stomach, so it’s a good “sick” tea.
I don’t know if Tazo still makes this. Even Starbucks used to stock it, but I haven’t seen it anywhere in a while.
Preparation
This has been in my drawer forever. I have been afraid to try it. A bagged herbal infusion. Starbucks what were you thinking when you bought Tazo? Hibiscus, blackberry, orange, and spearmint. How could this be anyone’s idea of good? I at least waited until the cup cooled before dumping it out. Gross.
Preparation
Yeah I personally use Tazo as a reference for cheap murky garbage. If you ever see me compare a tea to Tazo… it’s because I can’t think of a worse insult.
LOL I have seen this one in the piles of tea bags at the hotel… glad to know not to waist my time on in it!
Yet another tea bag from today. I was intrigued by this one because I think I would like lotus tea but I have yet come across one. I would have preferred not a decaffinated green and not a teabag, but so it goes. I have no idea how hot my water was but it was probably too hot, and I steeped it some unknown but fairly short amount of time. I got some flavor out of it, and that definitely improved as it cooled, but I was definitely wanting more. It wasn’t bitter, just light and a bit floral. Unfortunately tea bag + paper cup is too much paper flavor for me in my tea, so that also doesn’t help the situation. Still, I definitely want to try more lotus scented teas in the future.
Still on the road, this time for another conference, which means a lot of tea slim pickings at the hotels. This morning I had a bag of this and it really wasn’t half bad. Sure, I wasn’t really paying close attention to it much, but I remember being pleasantly surprised. I like very bergamotty Earl as long as it doesn’t get super astringent and bitter, and this tea fits that profile. I guess the tea bag was pretty fresh, too, because I didn’t have problems with it being really weak like some people, nor did I have it get bitter on me. Yeah it wasn’t super exciting, but I’ve had way worse.
This morning, I was feeling a bit nostalgic. I had often gone to B&N to look for books, and sit in the cafe. One summer, I first tried this beverage, and fell in love with this cooling iced tea. Now, whenever I go to B&N, or Starbucks in the summer, I feel inclined to order this tea again (or, some other tea). Since I was feeling nostalgic, I decided to get one, and remembered how great these tasted. I don’t think I’ll have another one until summer, though. Winter is too cold for Iced teas.
Preparation
I can’t find anything good about this tea. There’s absolutely nothing that ‘wows’ me about it. I’ve tried to spruce it up with everything… milk… honey… agave nectar… sugar… brown sugar… extra cinnamon… etc, but I am left unimpressed. I think a certain crowd will like this though, and do encourage you to try it if you haven’t… you can have the rest of mine ;).
I took two sips of this at a starbucks and felt like my throat was going to swell up. Sadly, I had to toss out the entire cup. From the bit I did get to taste, it seemed alright.
Still trying to figure out what it was in it that I am allergic to so that I can be careful when I pick new teas to try. Lately, comparing ingredients with other teas that have given me a similar feeling, I’ve narrowed it down to Licorice Root, Artificial Flavourings, or Blackberry Leaves.
This is a great summertime-refreshing tea. When iced, the tea takes on a whole new persona of this fruity delightful substance which helps cool you off during those hot summer days. Typically I obtain this tea from Starbucks on my way to work in the morning, but when I have the day off, or I decide I want to, i’ll give a shot at making it myself.
Preparation
Well I discovered this on accident one day when I forgot that I made tea. So I come downstairs in my robe and discover my tea brewing along side my stainless steel stove. I go over take out the bag and have a sip. The tea was colder than normal, but it tasted much better. Due to the fact that the teas temperature was reduced, the acidity from the orange was cut down and also diminished some of that powerful orange taste. After doing this I decided to make some more to see if it was coincidence, it wasn’t though.
Preparation
Now,
I have liked tea my whole life; being that I grew up on it. But I never particularly liked the relaxing types. They never really gave me much satisfaction.
My mother is always having me try new kinds of relaxation teas because of my major panic attacks and serious anxiety.
While browsing through Target while my mother shopped for Christmas gifts, I stumbled upon the tea isle (more like, looked EVERYWHERE for it) and saw this pretty pink box.
I read the ingredients and decided to give it a try.
Two cups later, I am relaxed and ready for bed (For once).
At first, I admit, It smelled a little strong and medicine-y. But once brewed it smells like herbs and lemon!
The taste is amazing as well- you can taste the citrus, but there is also the hint of rose.
Definitely a tea to drink to relax before bed :)
Preparation
Okay, so, I’m going to let you all in on a dirty little secret of mine: occasionally, I am a terrible, godawful tea nerd and don’t actually steep tea. Sometimes, as a matter of fact, I buy it in a damn carton. And this is the only exception I can allow myself.
Tazo’s chai concentrates, whichever one your heart desires, are generally very solid products. Much richer and spicier than the majority of chai concentrates, and, I find, much thicker. They really do taste like tea. Super duper easy for even the laziest of tea snobs, I prefer to have about 3/4 chai to 1/4 milk (usually 2%), over ice. It is equally fantastic to your taste buds heated up, and I find that when I do boil it, it tends to become much spicier (which I like, because my nose can use all the spice it can get). Do not add milk while heating it, however. (D’oh!)
One last secret: if you are feeling crazy, as I often am, it is also mind-bogglingly delicious to mix this with chocolate milk. It’s definitely not a dirty chai, but it will make you feel dirty all over. With pleasure.
Preparation
Saw the reviews here and let it steep for 8 minutes (a bit longer than I usually steep)- was drawn to it by the wonderful amazing smell of the bag, it smells so much like apple pie! I also like the taste. I can taste the caramel pretty outright, but it takes swallowing to taste the apple (if that makes any sense). I got it for free using a coupon, and I’m not sure I’d buy a whole case…but it works for now :)
Preparation
I got this at Starbucks today before going on my hike. I thought it would be kinda Christmasy and nice… I could not pick any flavor out of it whatsoever. Like drinking tea flavored water.
Preparation
I went out on a whim and bought this tea, I used my moms discount at her work, plus a one dollar off coupon from tazo. Ive had it a handfull of times, and the vanilla seems to always overpower the tea. Ive tried it with half milk, and half hot water. I definately did not like it that way either. Unsure of a way to drink this tea.
